Nothing concrete as they could ask for more information. But if they don't ask for more information within 30 days then it is automatically approved.

True. I would not want this to get down to bowels of hell like Naughty Dog did. SEX EVERYWHERE!

Looking forward to an influx of games for Games Pass when this deal goes through. There’s a number of games that I’ve had my eye on for awhile but figured I’d just wait this deal to go through.

I'm looking forward to playing the Call of Duty campaigns on PC Game Pass.

I haven't bothered to play any of them after Black Ops (original) because Activision refused to lower the prices.

The upside of this is renting CoD games for a few bucks and moving on. It's an even more disposable franchise now

Game Pass has so many AAA games on it now. Once the Activision library hits it (including COD), it's gonna be a bloodbath for PS Minus.

Microsoft have mentioned that the deal is progressing fast for an acquisition of its size. I wonder what would be the next acquisition? Rumour has it that Microsoft could acquire Netflix next, but who knows?

Not a fan of these acquisitions and such. Though the part of me that likes to make things into a big complex mess is secretly thinking that this is a sign of independent games making a large dent in the market, and all the big-time publishers are consolidating and selling themselves to shore up.

Keeping going, independent and small-scale developers! You might only take a percent or two from the big-time guys, but it's enough to hurt them.

I still believe the price for Activision is too high, especially considering all the scandals. But I guess that Microsoft knows best.

FTC could but there's no signs that they will. This is all pure speculation and assumes that once the information is provided the FTC will be all go for this deal to happen.

Ultimately though I don't think this deal does all that much good for Microsoft as they are buying a **** ton of problems and studios run into the ground where talent left long ago to pursue projects they actually want to do instead of farming out Call of Duty content. A studio like Toys for Bob doesn't have people waiting around hoping they can make 3D platformers again and biding their time making Call of Duty content, they moved on to different studios and didn't look back.

Also not confident Microsoft is gonna be able to manage even more IP's when they struggle with their current lineup of IP's keeping regular releases let alone maintaining a level of quality across them all one would expect from such a well funded company.

This feels like throwing money around for the sake of throwing money around and hoping to quick fix the problem of a lacking first party lineup and support.

It's WAY too high, and only a fistful of the IPs they got out of that have value. They could have gotten a ton of new shit off the ground with that kind of money instead of giving ABK half their cash reserves. They're wasting billions on these anti-competitive chess moves that aren't going to gain them THAT much more ground

One analyst has upgraded the value of Activision stock because of "high chances Microsoft deal will close"

The article says there is not "much political heat" over this merger and acquisition

It already is 1000 times better. So would that make it 2000 times better? Or 1 million times better (1000x1000).
