Perhaps this game got glossed over because it's from Ubisoft who seem to overpromise and under deliver; or it was overshadowed by the Beta announcement of Ubisoft's other openworld shooter, The Division. Not entirely sure how the gameplay works in the open world, but it looks like it could be fun

I’m really encouraged by how Dominic Butler explains the approach to mission structure—it’s exactly what I want Wildlands to be, maybe more of an open world game than a military shooter. “It's more than it's an open approach—what we try to do is give the player a goal, a singular objective, that's clear to them but open to interpretation as to how they want to achieve it. So rather than say 'do A, B, C, D', we just say 'do A'. It's up to you how you do it and give them a wealth of options on how they do it.”

Source

So do you think it will actually deliver an interesting experience? or will Ubisoft just crap the bed again?

Looks like a typical bad Ubisoft open world game trying to be a Hollywood movie. About as tactical as throwing a brick at a window, once again spitting on the original incarnation to appeal to dude bro's.

Real gamers will be playing Arma IIII.

It looks fantastic, so it's probably going to disappointing and/or deeply flawed.

It's the Ubisoft way!

Looks like a blast. Was really surprised by this. Future Soldier was surprisingly good.

@uninspiredcup: shouldn't it be Arma IV? Or is Arma so hardcore they rewrote the Roman numerical system?

Either way, zero trust in UBIsoft to deliver.

Most likely they have been numb to Ubisoft bullshit.

Then reality: i a series of repetitive padded content, deeply flawed gameplay,, incredibly hand holding linearity and a visual downgrade for a cherry on top.

I should have added that '...other than it's an Ubisoft game.' at the end of that post LOL

This looks better then the Division now (since it got a down grade)... But then again it's Ubi, so I shouldn't get any hope or hype up.

Maybe because there hasn't been a good Ghost Recon game since the original and Red Storm Entertainment were the devs, NOT UBI.

I don't trust Ubi anymore. I'm just waiting for the downgrade at this point. The Division looked nothing like it did two years ago, and don't even get me started on Watch Dogs.

Ghost Recon Island Thunder and Jungle Storm both head like an open area so you could play the way you wanted to, so in a way, it is.

Why is this even called Ghost Recon? There is nothing Ghost Recon about it? At least GRAW was in line with Ghost Recon, at least what was it Phantom something was conceptually in line with Ghost Recon, this shit? Ridiculous.

It does look potentially fun, but it's Ubisoft, they'll **** it up. That's like their thing: Awesome concept, horrible execution.

Can't wait to climb towers to reveal the surrounds of an enemy encampment on my map. Zero faith that it won't be bogged down by Ubisoft's open world formula.

In the case with Ubisoft, they take that gem, put it between their hands, and attempt to crush that gem to death in order to shill out. Tom Clancy being, probably the best example. It doesn't even resemble tactical thriller games anymore, it's went from interchangeable action games to interchangeable open world games.

You know those prison movies in which a depressed looking convict with a plastic bag dishes out white putrid looking liquid with a ladle? That's Tom Clancy now.

Seems really interesting, still a bit to get used to considering what us old-kneed gamers were used to when Ghost Recon first dropped ages ago...

All I can say is, as a native Texan, there is no group on Earth I'd like to **** up more than the cartels in Mexico. They are not only involved in the drug bullshit but also human trafficking, kidnapping, and all kinds of nasty stuff. I find the premise of this game very satisfying.

QFT

This game took me by surprise. Half way through watching the Ubisoft live stream, I pretty much figured that it had to be a GR title due to the setting and the enemies involved.

The game has a ton of potential. The real question is how bad will Ubi screw it up.

If they allowed 24 player servers in the open world, and got the game modes right, rather than your basic death match, conquest, etc... They could have something special. If they took some things from Arma, it could be a poor man's Arma for consoles. I would be perfectly happy with that. Add Co-op to the single player, and then it would really shine.

Looks like a continuation of the Future Solider format, but this time it's open world.

Man, that looked awesome.. I hope it delivers both co-op AND has a great MP. Farcry 4 had some decent co-op and ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE MP. After FC3 MP I was expecting more...
