It’s in their best interests to release it soon. It’s been available for awhile now. Easy to find and acquire. Might as well get to an agreement and release it officially so they can make some money before everyone has it.

A full on 2023 remake? Yes please. I was too young to experience Goldeneye as a new game (though I do have some memories of the Tomorrow Never Ends on PS1) another game that fully deserves a remake for those who missed it like myself.

There kind of was a remake and it wasn't bad imo, it's called GoldenEye: Reloaded for ps3/360. Kind of bummed by the time I had played it multiplayer had died out but was infamous for some different nick names like Call of Bond as it plays kind of like a call of duty game.

@dimebag667: Not sure of the exact answer, but Faceball 2000 on the SNES has a strong claim. If you're focusing on just "multiplayer" without caring about the how, there's also Doom on PlayStation that used the link cable to network two consoles together.

You'd all review bomb it to Oblivion if it released on PC after the comments PC FPS fanboys have made on it.

@zmanbarzel: Haha, Faceball! That game sucked, but man I loved the feel of an fps on SNES. I felt like I was breaking the law 😁 And I don't think I ever saw or knew that you could link up a PS1. I love the idea though. Linking up Xboxes for Halo CE lans is still exciting to me. I never got the chance to do it with Armored Core 3, with five ps2's and five TVs. Four players battling with the other as a spectator camera flying around sounds like magic to me.

What if I got very specific and said: "what was the first competitive multiplayer fps on console... that had 4-player split screen?"

I would have preferred it if it was a nice free ad for Rare Replay as it was really missing Goldeneye from the start.

I’m worried about the game based on how long we’ve had clues of its existence without it actually being revealed and released. That makes me think it’s trash

While I wasn’t necessarily head over heels about it I did enjoy it well enough back in the day. Definitely will check it out on Game Pass if/when it ever comes out.

Seriously, wake me up when a brand spanking new Golden Eye, made from the ground up for this gen is announced.

You can play Doom 64 and ignore this.

Proper PC version of goldeneye that did not suck plus IO interactive bond game is big deal.

Goldeneye is the shit, one of my fav FPS games of all time, bring it on!

They remade this for 7th gen consoles a decade ago. Just find it odd people act like this has been needed since the days of Goldeneye 64, when we already got one.

Show some gameplay from the new 007 game and surprise release it right after. Maximum hype.

Doom had deathmatches back in 1993. And before that there was Maze War.

For a lot of people it was the OG yeah. SNES only had two controller ports but N64 had 4-player split screen. I don't think there was anything like that on PC.

Of course PC was waaaaay ahead when it came to online games and shooters.

Look, I had as much fun with Goldeneye as everyone else did, the nostalgia hits hard...but why this game?

Seems we have people wanting everything to be remade every generation. As if these games aren't already available and playable, and assuming just because a remake is newer that it's going to make it more enjoyable.
