Have you ever gamed on a phone? (not just to try it, i mean as an actual pastime)

didnt buy a phone to play games on it. have my ps5 pc and switch for that. though occasionaly il play those casual games like coc and some mobile rift but heavy gaming nah.

Sometimes I play Solitaire on my phone.

my last job I worked 12 hour night shifts and would play Fortnite using a xbox controller all shift. Let's just say I was a damned pro back then. Haven't touched the game since.

No, gaming on a phone is 99% of the time horrible.

Only if I'm extremely bored and there's no other option to play on my PC or a console. I played some mobile game on a plane ride recently, for instance.

Play quite a bit of hearthstone and only on my phone, so yeah for ccg phone works perfect! Also play final fantasy 1 and a few mobile games which were all horrible cash grabs!

Yeah, I play DBZ: Dokkan Battle all the time. It's easy going, yet still fun. Plus, it's pretty F2P friendly too.

With that said, games that require precision like SoR and Sonic, I typically don't play on my phone since I need a controller for them.

This thread just reinforces (as least for me) why the Steam Deck is important.

I have a big move coming in the next month and will be without my gaming PC for a couple of months.

I have been trying to decide what to game on during that time. I have an Acer Helios 300 gaming laptop with a 1660ti (perfect for high end 1080p/60) but I would still need a place to pull up a chair and plug in for any series gaming time.

I really wish I had something like the Steam Deck, not because mobile phones are underpowered (my phone has a Snapdragon 865), its more that there are never any traditional game experience ported to mobile. Its all mobile crap made to grind you into paying real money

Yes. I played, and still do play the ports of Espgaluda 2 on smartphones and other danmaku games. They port well over to phones.

Nah, not really. Played some Angry Birds and maybe Words with Friends back in the day, but not much.

Gaming for me is very much an "at-home" activity.

I used to play Fire Emblem Heroes for over a year and admitted wasting hundreds of dollars purchasing orbs just to get the hard-to-find heroes, with little success. I stopped playing the game in 2019 when it felt pointless and lost interest.

Mobile gaming is for casuals who don't care about quality. It is the shittiest way to play and has the worst games. There is big money involved though. So, developers keep putting out shit and people eat it up. Lol

I'm from the handheld era, I know good quality games when I see one, and handhelds were meant to be played on the go, why use your phone as a gaming source when handhelds were built for such a thing? Playing Tetris on mobile is one thing, but playing as a real game isn't ideal for mobile and Tetris is probably the easier way for me to play on my phone. That said, I'd rather watch HBO Max, Netflix, on my phone to pass the time anyway.

Both options suck. I have, but I'm getting older as well.. lol. Just play what you want.. I've never been able to understand why some people get so wrapped up over playing on certain platforms and not others.

I played a tower defence game until it got to the point I had to pay to play. There was this enjoyable Pokemon tower defence game that I never got to play the full version because it was taken down (anyone?)

A long time ago I played a lot of Bejeweled 2 because it was on my blackberry.

I'll use my phone for actual games via emulator with my PS4 controller and a dongle to hold my phone.

Hearthstone if it counts ... but even now i'm playing it on PC because my phone is dying and playing there was becoming a nightmare.

I put a fair amount of time into the IOS versions of Mirror's Edge and Super Monkey Ball. Both work surprisingly well, and I would even argue Super Monkey Ball was better than the console releases that came after SMB2 on GC.

Rarely, like once or twice a year. Usually just Tetris. A bit of X Construct and Angry Birds at some point. Was always just a time killer though, like at the DMV, doctors office, shit like that.

I've played a few rando games, Arknights and a few rando gacha games. Arknights and the Seven Deadly Sins game are actually pretty legit though in terms of being games
