huge fan of the ps4, bought an xbox one for the first time

bought an xbox one X recently, I've been a huge fan of everything sony's done this generation but I'm also a huge fan of halo so I wanted to catch up on the xbox one

the xbox one X is incredible. we all know the base xbox one is a piece of trash but this system is practically flawless, and is MUCH better than the pro IMO - especially for a 4k TV.

the hardware is incredible and game pass is an amazing value as well. the master chief collection and halo 5 look incredible on a 4k tv AND 1080p tv on the one X. gears 5, forza, halo - all 60fps 1080p minimum, most of them looking great at 4k.

well done microsoft!!

But on a serious note, Xbox One is alright for the right gamers of course. Rare Replay is still one of the best Xbox One exclusive games around in my opinion.

Congrats on the new purchase. I’ve really enjoyed the Xbox One and numerous games on it.

It’s a great console,the most powerful and best on the planet,a referb X with a years warranty is £280 here in England at game/Cex

And if you’re a gears/halo fan then gamepass saves you around £80 on those games alone.

Get Forza Horizon 4 and Rare Replay, no matter what system wars says: Xbone has great games.

Yeah the X1X is pretty good hardware.

I just wish they would fix the laggy menus.

perfection. and yeah guys, forza horizon 4 is great the master chief collection and halo 5 at this very moment are BOTH incredible games since they've been patched. I'm really liking what 343 has been doing lately and I was NOT a fan of halo4 on the 360, which was the last microsoft system I've owned.

Xbox one X kills the Pro in every aspect.

1. Looks

2. Cooling

3. 4K

5. Back compatibility uprez to Skate3, Red Dead 1 and tons more.

After playing Far Cry 5 in 4K on the X, I cannot even look at a game on the PS4. They all look last gen.

Worthless, cannot even out do base PS4 exclusives. Should of bought a PC, all the games are on it anyway, my new build is pretty sweet so far.

Holishet someone said good things about xbox one, that is not how this works. That's crazy man, appreciate the bravery.

If you're a console player it's no doubt the best primary system. I used the Pro as my primary but since I bought the X I've only used it a few times.

the actual hardware is amazing too - it feels much quieter and cooler than my pro and it does 4k - the pro is great but it is more of a 1080p or upscaled 1440p system, as opposed to the one X which does damn near everything at 4k.

like I said, great job microsoft.

you guys make me laugh - alt wars? I've been using and checking gamespot since 2001, just not much use to post on the forums - for obvious reasons. :)

is it really that difficult to comprehend that someone prefers the base ps4 over the base xb1, and the One X over the pro?

I can 1UP that one. Out of the X, Pro and Switch I would pick the Switch. And an argument could be made for Switch > PC. That library and the freedom the hybrid design provides is unmatched. The performance and customization of PC is where PC wins. PC+Switch is a winning combination for sure.

Why would you do that if next-gen is coming around the corner?

I prefer the playstation exclusives for obvious reasons there's just a lot more there in terms of variety and content but even still 80%+ of the games I play are on all consoles plus PC. switch has other advantages but a base ps4 and and xbox one X, those aren't even comparable when 90% of the games are the same. it's some fanboy shit.

star was jedi fallen order

modern warfare reboot cautiously optimistic, more optimistic than cautious

last of us 2

not to mention all of the multiplats I already play. the only game I can't get on the oneX which is now my preferred console is the last of us. the last of us is a system seller by itself so probably the strongest exclusive of the next couple of years but otherwise I'm gonna go 4k whenever I can.

this is all common sense no? the one X will play all of those games except the last of us at glorious 4k for only $499 USD - microsoft is giving you a bargain guys.

Yep, XB1 X is a fantastic piece of hardware. Especially compared to it's main competition, the half-ars*d Pro.

@speedytimsi: good question obviously PC is the way to go if you want the best graphics but the concept of an xbox with all of the halo games ever running at 4k 60fps is very appealing to me

game pass is definitely awesome gonna beat gears 5 campaign this weekend and probably never play it again

X1X is a has a solid build - to say nothing about it's gaming performance.

For example: It doesn't creak and feel squishy like a plastic Chinese toy when you pick it up. The PS4 does.

Obviously it's still a console and it performs like one.

I will say one good thing about the software though - It's got Ninja Gaiden Black at native 4K/60fps.

Yeah I tend to separate hardware and software and I try to be very specific about what I'm discussing.

Software is usually much more subjective whereas discussion about hardware is objective unless you're talking about aesthetics.

Straight-up - I'll probably skip TLoU2 until PS5 because while I am interested in the story, I found the game play of the first to be a drag. I'm just not into post-Uncharted Naughty Dog. I tried.

I understand that Xbox One X is a superior system to PS4 Pro....but when you basically got an extra year to develop, it can easily beat PS4 Pro given an extra year of technological advantage is quite huge even in 2016-2017 just for changing specs, improving UI, etc.

No doubt it is the better piece of kit, but isn't also newer and more expensive?

In any case multiplats are better and cheaper on PC, and you can have fun building it yourself.

The ui is better on PlayStation a subscription to game pass is essentiall to getting the best out the Xbox platform.
