if Persona 5 came to the NX, which system you getting it for?

Persona 5 is getting released in Japan this September 15th, same day as the kickoff to the Tokyo Game Show. It will only be available on PS3 & PS4 at that time. However, the North American release date is set for February 14th of next year, and the PAL versions of the game are all still TBA because of how Atlus and NIS America parted ways because of Sega's interference.

Anyhow, I'm curious, let's just say at Tokyo Game Show they announce Persona 5 is coming to the NX as well. And say the North American release date of Persona 5 is pushed back to March 31st to coincide with the release of the NX; if that's the case, which system would you get it for? Or let's just say the PS3 & PS4 versions are set for February 14th but the NX version is coming just a few weeks away when the NX launches, would that change your mind? Or, if you're in the TBA European regions, and it shows up there on both systems at the same time, which system might you think that you'd get it for?

I'd rather any discussion be less about whether this is likely, and just more where do you think your preference would be if it released for both PS3/PS4 and NX? Discuss.

I think it deserves some consideration, after all it seems as far as SMT and the subseries goes, Atlus has given Nintendo a lot of attention these last few years, with games coming to the DS/3DS like Strange Journey, Devil Survivor 1 and 2 on DS, Devil Survivor Overclocked and Record Breaker for 3DS, Soul Hackers for 3DS, Shin Megami Tensei IV for 3DS, Persona Q for 3DS, and Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse for 3DS. They also had that SMT x FE / Tokyo Mirage Sessions for Wii U. I think Atlus has been much more favorable with these games toward Nintendo than they have for Sony in these last few years. Sony hasn't seen as much favoritism with these games since the days of the PSP/PS2, when they had titles like Persona 3, Persona 3 FES, Persona 3 Portable, Persona 4, Digital Devil Saga 1 & 2, Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne, two Devil Summoner games, a remake of Persona on the PSP and two Persona 2 releases, Innocent Sin & Eternal Punishment. But all they gotten since has been Persona 4: The Golden for Vita, which is a great game BTW, but there hasn't been much for these games for Sony except for Persona 5 being in development, unless you want to count Dancing All Night. But overall, I think it'd be hard to deny a stronger preference by Atlus toward Nintendo the last few years. I think there's a good chance Atlus might consider releasing Persona 5 on NX.

If it's coming to the NX, and the NX is a handheld hybrid, then NX, without a question. I prefer these games in portable form.

I got a PS4 specifically for this game, but I probably wouldn't mind getting it for NX if it were available as a launch title for the platform. Between that and the new Legend of Zelda, it'd be a great launch for the NX. Though, I really do want to play this, and if the PS4 release sticks to the February date while releasing on the NX at its launch date, there's a chance I could succumb to temptation and get the PS4 version.

Also, there is of course, NX is all rumors right now, we have no idea how it's shaping up or what turn-ons and turn-offs there might be. But, if the NXt turns out to be everything I'd hope it will be, then I could see myself going for an NX version.

PS4 Version>PS3 Version.

NX version isn't even an option. It will be the worst of the 3 so forget it.

I would get it for the Microsoft Game boy Playstation.

PS4 Neo version. I want the best version possible. This is just a crazy hypothetical though because Persona mainline games have always been exclusive to PlayStation and Atlus is very set in their ways(and Sega is very hands off with them).

Both? It really depends on how much of a downgrade the NX really is going to be from the ps4. Its probably not going to be a problem though, I doubt its coming to NX.

If they do, I'd still get it for the PS4. I don't wanna wait till the pipe dream that the NX is right now comes out. Hell I'm still getting BOW for Wii U.

It won't happen because all the main entries in the Persona serie always been on Sony's consols

The game will be 60fps at 1080p on PS4, like optimal settings, so like what benefit will there be to getting it on another system if you already own a PS4?

Doesn't make much sense to me but if someone didn't own a PS4 that might be a relevant question.

Why would it be worse than the PS3 version? That makes no sense.

If it goes to the NX it won't be revealed before the PS4-PS3 release date; also Atlus tend to keep their franchises in the same console company: Yes, it can happen, but most probably won't; It is way more possible a sequel for Tokyo Mirage Sessions, but not this soon.

If this is considered the crown jewel of the genre these days...then color me totally unimpressed.

Let's see, Persona 5 releases February 2017 and the NX releases March 2017, so yeah, the logical choice would be: buying it on PS4.

I'm already committed to getting it for my (mostly neglected) PS4, but I'm not against getting it for a different platform, especially a new platform that could potentially be a portable device. What better way to break in a new device than with a meaty RPG?

Easily NX I don't like turning on my ps4 i prefer PC or a handheld portable from nintendo.

Hmmmm.....Let me thi...NX, yup that fast. Portable Persona 5. GOOD GOD YES! Take all W's!!! I don't understand peoples irrational hate of portable gaming. It is literally the future. The less I need to be tied to my TV the better. If PS3 can run this game well then the NX will run it at max like the PS4. However, I do not see this happening to be honest. But hey, one can dream.

But since it's not and there's a fat chance that it will and it was practically a miracle that Etrian Odyssey Developers got the Persona license to make Persona Q for 3DS, I'll just take a PS4 copy.
