Interesting list. Some good and some head scratchers.... Also, next to no indie love.

I've always been a big meh on God of War, but that game was incredible. All I ask for if you're going to make a narrative heavy game is good combat. Gow18 delivered.

Bloodborne is my personal game of gen for ps4.

How come Until Dawn is not even on the list? That was some excellent, creepy stuff.

For me it is Bloodborne and Horizon Zero Dawn.

There's more demand for the PS4 and PS4 Pro than there is for the XSX right now lol.

Lol. I really can't think of one game that came out this year that would really justify an XSX.

I heard that Dreams isn't a game, so why is it on this list?

I've been having bloodborne installed on my PS4 for years now promising myself that I'd finish it but the game.... Well... It's too damned ugly and runs like crap. It looks like a frickin Gameboy Advanced game.

I'm hoping for either a next gen sequel or a remake before I dive back into it.

I question IGN's opinion but whatever. TLOU2 isn't a bad game but it could have been better. My list: (and not in this order)

@TheEroica: I just beat it (Returnal) today. 46 hours and 83 deaths lol. It's an all time classic for me. Like Bloodborne was last gen.

I tried Alienation briefly. It seemed cool but I didn't stick with it. Same with their other games. Super Stardust Delta for Vita was cool back in the day. You ever play that?

Pretty solid list of games there. I have most of them. Some I’ve already played and some I have yet to play. There’s really only like three that don’t interest me there.

Judgment deserves a spot in the top 25

Tales of Berseria was my favourite PS4 game, followed by Persona 5.

This looks more like a multiplatform list, honestly.

In any case, I haven't touched my PS4 in a while, and the best game I played on it was Persona 5 Royal lol

Just finished the R&C remake this afternoon. Belongs in the list, but it's also a step down from the original on some ways - which is a pretty big sin in a remake IMO. Most notably, the final battle was painful. The 30fps game (half the OG) chugs to something slower and kept switching my weapons on me randomly to shit that wasn't even in my quick wheel. Almost threw the controller out the window. Worst part is the rest of the game is on the easier side, so the experience is waaay out of sync. It's a great example of boss battles at their worst.

Still, good game on a good system

Agree one of the best PS4 games ever amazing atmosphere.

I disagree on few on the list and some others like Bloodborne needs to be #1 but generally its a good list.

I played it recently and was surprised how decent it was. I'm not sure if the cringy acting from certain characters was on purpose though.

I agree for the most part, but Ghost of Tsushima should be number two and TLOU2 should be 3.

It would be interesting to see how many first party titles would make the cut for an Xbone list.

It's not a terrible list overall , but they should kick GTA V to the curb and put something like Sekiro in its place.

Like others have said, Until Dawn should be on there. In the top 5 for me.

I always hate lists like these even when I try to remind myself that it's just another persons opinion. There are perhaps 1 or 2 games I would consider for a top 25 on that list.

Dark Souls 3 is the biggest omission there

Yeah, I get that man. The problem with the lists for me is that a lot of people look at these lists as a source of what they should play. It's not as if a list I would make would be any better on a per person basis, but I feel that a lot of great games get overlooked because of these media darling games that always get thrown around.

A couple of those I would move up in the list but overall, pretty good. I agree with the top 2.
