I hope not 😄 Plus, I thought the rumors were that it would have a detachable disc drive?
What do you think, SW?

It would certainly seem so. Looks smaller and much lighter. Interesting how there is that break in the outer shell.
I’m calling fake. No way they would make an uglier, plasticky-er console.
It’s not technically possible.
Hmm...sceptical. Looks more like a 3D printed knock off with some modified PS5 Panels. Still fair dues for the effort. The regulatory markings on the bottom do lend some credibility to the rumour...solid attention to detail there. It's like that early switch rumour.
It would be disappointing if that is real. Whenever Sony do make a slim, I would hope the Blu-Ray drive would be part of the centre black piece rather than the current bulge and that it would be a bit smaller. Though, as mentioned, there has been the rumour about the separate PS5 Blu-Ray drive too.
@Willy105: The PS3 super slim was pretty small but, yeah, the PS2 slim was tiny.
The biggest contributing factor was that it went from 250nm to 65nm and, the final chip basically included everything - CPU/GPU/RAM. We aren't ever going to see that kind of die shrink again.
I hope not. The only reason I intend to pick up a PS5 is to bring a console to fighting game locals. I was hoping it wouldn't be an odd shape. I've been waiting on a slim version because the PS5 is massive and horribly shaped for transport.
PS4 is the only time Sony made a clean compact, appealing console.

My problem with the PS4 is it's noisy like boeing 737. Anyway, yeah I agree with you.
@omegamaster: I had a Pro, it was unbelievably loud. After I got my One X I only used my Pro for exclusive titles because even with headphones I could still hear it, really annoying. But it wasn't the eyesore the PS5 is, it had a really solid, clean look.

I didn't know the Pro also had the same problem. The loud noise bothered me a lot... that's why I recently got a PS5 as I have persisted way to long.
It always makes me laugh when people care what a console looks like... do you care about playing the damn thing or just sitting it next to your TV for a conversation piece? If it's the later dont forget to dust.. wouldn't want your dust collector looking too dusty..
I would say this isn't real since the disc drive is supposedly detachable and it looks built in, but that's just my thoughts. Either way I already have a PS5 and I'm waiting for the Pro, so I'll pass either way, but not because I'm butthurt about the appearance.
@Willy105: They were slimmer than the base models, hence why they were called PS3 slim and PS4 slim. Also more power efficient. No clue why you are calling them massive.
@Willy105: Like everyone here said, PS3 had a slim model which was smaller than the regular. Not sure how and why you didn't think PS3 didn't have a slim when it did. Even PS4 had slims as well and both were not massive. How did you come to this conclusion?
The only thing I didn't like about PS3 Slim is they took away PS2 BC though.
I really don't care about the design, more than I care about the technichal capabilities of the thing. Is it an upgrade? Does it have something impressive, and better than the old one, that'll make one want to change my old one with it? What is it? Memory storage? Framerates? Other features? etc.
I really don't think this is real honestly, I wonder where did you get those pictures from, looks like some random nerd took these in his bathroom or something.
PlayStation 5 slim is to big and still ugly - they fix nothing!! Slim means small like Xbox Series S.
@WitIsWisdom: I absolutely care how it looks, although until the PS5 I kinda shared your opinion. But that huge white plastic disaster has no place in my living room.
Better not be. Not only does it look like dogwater, its not even slim, so what is the point of calling it that? If its indeed a Slim, and they release it with said name, they'll get memed on all over the social media, and i don't think Sony's PR is ready.
@kathaariancode: You do realize they sell plates that are pink, purple, blue, black, and several other 3rd party companies sell face plates as well though right? I mean that white is ugly.. but then again I'm not a big people person so if my big ugly PS5 monstrosity scares guests away then all the better... lol
