Kojima gives an update on Death Stranding 2

Hideo Kojima updated his fans on the highly anticipatedDeath Stranding 2, confirming that there's still work to be done before it's ready for release. Kojima also offered insight into what 2024 holds for other projects of his.

In a tweet, the game designer explained that 2024 will be a year of "simultaneous production" for Death Stranding 2 and his intriguing new horror game, OD. He further detailed that Death Stranding 2 still has voice recordings that need to be finished, and that work on its Japanese voice-overs will begin soon. While this isn't the most expansive update from Kojima, fans will likely be relieved to know that it sounds like Death Stranding 2 is nearing the end of its development. Kojima usually remains tight-lipped about his projects, so any information is probably welcome news to many fans.

Sounds like the game might be near the end of development, which would give PS5 a good exclusive to look forward to in 2024! Thoughts, SW? Are you excited for Death Stranding 2? The original game had some very addictive qualities once you got into it. Hopefully this one is a solid improvement. Also didn't like the story very much in the original, hopefully this one is more interesting.

Mads M in the Décima engine went a long way, admittedly. Definitely ready for more.

Very much enjoy his work. Had a great time with Death Stranding and am really looking forward to seeing where he takes things in the sequel. Have no idea what to expect with Overdose but am most definitely intrigued.

Kojima constantly delivers meh, so it's a meh for me on both his "projects" not sure to call them games.

Death Stranding despite faults in the plot and pacing, is one of the best game I have ever played. Its crazy how zen it is delivering parcels and rebuilding America. Hope the game makes it to 2024! also we need more budgets for ziplines!

@sakaixx: Fetch quest simulator. If it didn't have Kojimas name on the front of the cover, then it would have been trashed by everyone.

Really IP you should give it a try instead of ignoring it. There only 2 opinion of the game either you absolutely loved it or bored within 2-3 hours.

Of course not. The only thing he is serious about is the deadest genre in gaming, which are racing titles.

@last_lap: At least give the first game a try. It ain't the best of Kojima games, but it stands out well to have its franchise in the distant future. Played it first time on PS4 and replayed it on PC😎

Not personally hype about the sequel, but I will play it whenever it comes out.

I skipped DS as it felt like a walking simulator.

But if the gold version of of Death Stranding 2 is different and actually fun to play, I may also buy the first version for the background story.

@sakaixx: I don't need nor want to play a game that is made up entirely of fetch quests, I already know I wouldn't like it.

I find Kojima overrated, not hating, just find his games very boring for the most part. The only game I liked of his was the first Metal Gear game on the PS1.

I need to finally get around to making it more than an hour into the first game. I enjoyed what I played, but I decided to play God of War (2018) instead and never got around to continuing it as I started other games instead.

Maybe after FF7 Rebirth I can get to it.

Until I play more of the first one, I can't really be excited for the sequel. I don't really know if I like the first game yet, I barely even touched it.

Im looking forward to DS2 i enjoyed the first one a lot.
