New big GT7 1.31 update : 120Hz + VRR, New Cars, Events, Track Layouts, Physics Changes, and More

GT7 Update 1.31 will be available as a free download starting on March 30 at 06:00 UTC.

New Cars

There are a total of five new cars arriving in GT7’s March 2023 update, including:

• Audi RS5 Turbo DTM ’19
• Mazda 3 X Burgundy Selection ’19
• Porsche 959 ’87
• Porsche Carrera GTS (904) ’64
• Toyota Alphard Executive Lounge ’18

New Track Layouts

Two new track layouts of the Nurburgring will be added to the game, including:

• Nurburgring Endurance
• Nurburgring Sprint

The Sprint layout cuts the standard Nurburgring GP circuit short by adding a sharp right hairpin connecting to the back-half of the circuit just after turn 4. The Endurance layout appears to introduce the same hairpin on the GP circuit in addition to the full loop of the Nordschleife.

120Hz and Variable Refresh Rate (VRR)

Gran Turismo 7 can now be played at 120Hz with a variable refresh rate (VRR) on the PlayStation 5 when connected to a compatible display. Although this functionality will only be available to a small number of players with high-end TVs, it is a significant technical development which will be closely analyzed over the coming days and weeks.

Until now, Gran Turismo 7 has operated at a maximum of 60Hz on the PlayStation 5, so the 120Hz option is a major change along with VRR. By allowing the display to match the game’s frame-rate in real time, variable refresh rates eliminate “screen tearing” effects to provide a strikingly smooth gameplay experience.

Give Microsoft Windows PC a go. MS has been supporting VR since before consoles did.

Sony's been doing a great job with the latest GTs. I'm pretty sure the next Forza is going to be at least as great as ever but unless they nail the online like Sony did with GT, Forza will be the inferior product no matter how great are the graphics and physics improvements.

Did i've mentioned Forza?? Anyway, call me when next Forza will have VR option on Xbox

Nothing beats the VR update. The game became a must-have after that.

Yeah, ignoring the the fact from where source got the numbers. "IDC Expects 270,000 PSVR 2 sold by end of March"

PSVR2 a PS Direct exclusive. Will be interesting to see IDC's accuracy in that case, considering PlayStation Direct figures are not being released.

Also, fact is, when first PSVR launched, it got the installbase of 65 mil. PS4s

PSVR 2 has an installbase of +32 mil. PS5s.

Nope. Sold my PSVR around 2 months ago. Will buy PSVR 2 in near future.

Nope....for me it will be about the three screen wrap around simulation, with hydraulic cockpit with actual wheel, shifter and pedals.....and a real racing simulator, such as iRacing.

As an Xbox/PC/PS gamer, I refuse to stagnate. Only the BEST for me. Not some gimmick like VR.

The fact that we all have great options for racing games is a win win based on our conversation.

Tried the update and it works really well. I can't tell if any settings were turned down unless I do prioritize framerate plus 120Hz. There you see some jaggies. But prioritize resolution looks just as good and it feels super smooth.

You haven't read my posts above? Odd. Playing GT7 a lot right now. Played a lot Dirt 1 in VR, played GT Sport a lot in VR and despite its limitations, feeling to be inside the racing is so awesome. I know i can expect ONLY A BETTER THINGS in GT7 in PSVR 2. So, yes, i know what i'm talking about.
