Dead Space: Deep Cover Announced

As IGN revealed, the new project, called "Dead Space: Deep Cover", will be released in the first quarter of 2024. And no, it's not a new horror game, but a "scripted podcast" series within the Dead Space universe. This podcast will have 12 episodes, which will be released weekly, and are for free on Apple Podcast, Spotify and other pod catcher-services and networks.

Man, and here I was hoping Motive was announcing a Dead Space 2 remake to follow the awesome sauce job they did on the original.

But still potentially good news even if it's just a podcast audio narrative because this expanded media mentality was previously employed back when the series was first around with its additional films and comics. Hopefully a sign of a future resurgence for the franchise. But when they get there, I hope Motive is at the helm for remakes. Unfortunately they'll be bogged down for a while while they get their upcoming Marvel game off the ground, which I'm afraid will be too successful and then we'll end up with a Respawn's Titanfall scenario where they made an awesome game like Titanfall 2 (largely regarded as one of the best FPS games of recent years) but won't make sequels because Jedi games make way more money. In this case, future Dead Space plans would be on hold because Marvel games have the potential to be huge sellers if done right. Hopefully there's some consideration toward what licensing costs end up costing them, and I guess maybe a positive development on that end since EA ditched the Fifa license lately.

Oh come on i thought this was DS2, a game i am actually very excited to play on day one since i've never played it originally.

Well if there was any good news for the embattled Xbox brand, I would make threads to discuss them, but since there is not and SONY is firing on all cylinders this gen, by golly, I will carry on!

They keep trying to make Dead Space some story thing when compared to stuff like Resident Evil it has the blandest most unmemorable characters in gaming.

The entire series is generic horror trope 101 without the actual soul of the stuff it's imitating.
