"According to the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), “The foam facial interfaces can cause facial skin irritation and reactions including rashes, swelling, burning, itching, hives, and bumps.”

The CPSC received approximately 5,716 incident reports, 45 of which required medical attention. They state that around 4 million units have been recalled, alongside about 172,600 in Canada."

I got the email about this recall. Fabric on any of these facial interfaces is dumb.

It's well-known that prolongued VR use turns normal gamers into unhinged cranky moderators, so they made the decision to implement this as a protective measure for customers.

Umm, I recently bought an occulus quest 2 last month. No issues for me with hives.

Aren't they supposed to find these problems during development and testing?
