Persona 5 Strikers coming west for PS4, Switch, and PC on February 23, 2021

PC version added for western release.

Atlus will release Persona 5 Strikers for PlayStation 4, Switch, and PC via Steam on February 23, 2021 in the west, the publisher announced in an unlisted YouTube video.

The game, titled Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers in Japan, first launched for PlayStation 4 and Switch on February 20 in Japan.

So P5S is finally coming west. The biggest surprise this time is that it will be available on Steam. Atlus / Sega was certainly impressed with 500k sales of P4G on Steam.

The topic has even become a trend on Twitter as many Persona fans are excited about this. What do you think SW? Are you excited with playing the Phantom Thieves with Koei Tecmo's Warriors style?

I know you won't. But hey, I think Phil will eventually bring the Persona series to the Xbox platforms. He has brought previously PS4 exclusive series such as Yakuza and Dragon Quest, and many Xbox users take them positively.

I wonder why the English name is different from the Japanese name. It must be marketing as shorter titles are easy to market and easy to remember.

I guess in Japan, "scramble" is easily associated with the "Shibuya Scramble Crossing" that appears in the game, which also symbolizes a huge intersection where the fate of various people intersect. To us, it just sounds like a dish made from eggs.

@onesiphorus: the English team probably thinks the Japanese name scheme doesnt sound catchy. They removed "the" for english release of Persona 4 Golden and Persona 5 Royal aswell as removing "in" for the Persona dancing games.

Duh. Persona 5 received a lot of GOTY accolades the year it came out and Persona has a sizeable fanbase in general.

I think they should dabble in new markets with actual proper Persona games, not a musou spin-off. I don't want Sega's conclusion to be the IP has limited appeal outside its initial market rather than most people seeing this a something like "Dynasty Warriors with a Persona skin".

Very unfortunate that the game isn’t coming to the Xbox platform. I would certainly picked up that version myself. Still though I’m interested in this game and will just pick up another version instead.

I'm part of that fanbase and this game looks like a terrible cash grab.

@Sevenizz: yes. I wouldn't play it either. I played one of the games in the series on ps4 or ps3 and it bored me out of my mind.

Oh really? I can't think of any Xbox exclusive game coming out next year that looks more interesting than this. Let me know if you have any.

Outside of Infinite, nothing is coming to the X, but this is a button masher. It doesn't take much to be better than a game like this or that mediocre zelda game that just came out.

@hardwenzen: Well, I've heard that this game is more complex and difficult than a regular warriors game, as it focuses more on resource management, special skills, switching characters in battle, and progressing stats. But yeah, I don't deny that this is not for everyone, but for very specific audiences.

Persona jrpg is very desirable IP by Sheep and some PC beggars and Atlus makes a habit of ignoring them. Which is a source of amusement and jokes by many persona fans. Its also getting irritated the amount of port begging done by these sheeps on twitter and the Persona sub is infested with those beggars. Luckily everyone makes a habit of downvpting them which is nice.

meh put persona 4 golden on switch so i don't have to buy it on PC Atlus.

I’d much rather see them bring Persona 5 and perhaps previous ones to the Switch and/or Xbox platforms.

Nope that's selling the game quite short. They already confirmed this game will be cannon to the series, and early journalist impressions that played the Japanese version already confirmed that it's much much more than a Dynasty Warriors game.

I am getting this day 1. I love Dynasty Warriors games very much. I always pick them up.

@mojito1988: I used to enjoy these but gave up on them a while ago, but I like idea, which is why when they apply the style of gameplay to a franchise that I like such as Legend of Zelda or Persona then I am a sucker for it.
