Rockstar Confirms GTA6 in Development.

Hey Y'all... Just thought I'd drop this nugget. Tweeted from the R* account an hour or so ago.

Thoughts? Expectations?

Personally, I like that they take their time and attempt to take what they do to the next level.

In development to be released in 2026.

I just don't want a long runway for game releases. Take your time R*... 3 months before it's ready to release tell us about it and I'll be thrilled. Hyped to the moon.

Rockstars themselves have become a shit of a company. They need to get the public support back on their side and the best way is stay away from GTA for a moment and try something new! GTA6? I have zero (not you epyon) hype for any GTA as of late. RDR2 on the other hand I like.

I got tired of GTA Online after a few weeks when they nerfed the shit out of mission rewards for the 10th time in favor of shark cards. That's how little I give a crap about Rockstars! If you haven't learned what they did to those remasters, I don't know what to tell you.

"We'll still milk GTA Online for 5 more years but we'll also make something new. Fine now?"

I wish Valve would come out with a statement like that xD

One of the best franchises ever made ruined by greed and laziness. GTA online is the worst thing to ever happen to Rockstar if you enjoy their SP games.

Cool. Is that an official pic there for GTAVI because it definitely looks very “Vice City-ish”. Vice City was one of my most favourite GTA so I would most certainly approve of that direction for the new one.

do people still care about GTA? With how many years its been...almost 10 years now since the last release, and with so many games following the same formula, Id expect the hype for gta6 has gone down big time.

Confirms it now. Releases it in 2031 when gta online is FINALLY dead.

Marks 2032 in calendar as the official PC release

Will probably release it towards the end of this gen so they can launch it on current hadware and then sell the "new gen" upgrade ... classic Rockstar.

The fact there's no trailer or anything like that to accommodate this announcement, i think is a sign it won't come out for a long while. They're probably throwing this one out just to shut everyone up that's been bugging them over a sequel.

Got a feeling this will be some sort of live-service type of affair--with the money GTA Online been raking in, I wouldn't be surprised if they completely abandoned all forms of single-player or offline gameplay.

And it will be a live service game. Mark my words!

Did their stock drop after that pathetic gta remaster? Its the only reason why they'd be announcing gta6. Rockstar and their bullshit gta online are just like Steam, their one thing is printing them so much cash they don't need to do anything.

@pc_rocks: Isn't the current GTA already a live-service? I played like 5 minutes when the game came out, and I've seen videos of people driving in the sky, so I really don't know.

same. there was a time when a new gta was a huge event for me. used to get so excited for them. did the midnight launches, marathon sessions with mates, all that. feel sad that now when i hear gta vi all i think of is this

But, i mean ... we kind of are on GTA VIII territory by now right? we have 5 numbered editions, but we also have Vice City and SA ... also, Red Dead is basically GTA Cowboy edition :P

I have never played a GTA game. Microsoft should buy Rockstar.

Really hyped. I guess that everyone except the die-hard GTA haters are hyped about GTA6.

Need Max payne 4 but sadly rockstar will never make it now fully focus on next GTA trash. sadly.

Yeah, I don't know, I'll probably pass on this one. First off, it'll probably be on console for a year first like what they typically do with their releases so it'll be old news by time I am able to play it. And no, I'm not going to go out and buy a PS5 or XSX for it. The other issue, and ultimately why I never bought RDR2 is because their online play is almost entirely unplayable due to hackers which to this day Rockstar has done two things to fix, jack, and shit. So I don't trust the online experience for VI, will be much better.

Yup. When they start releasing trailers we will know what's really coming out.

They seem to only care about GTA Online, so I am sure GTA 6 will be a push towards that money printing machine of theirs. Maybe a live service or a mmo style GTA game. Either way, I will give it a go if it looks good. I enjoyed every other game in the series enough to keep me interested. Probably not a day 1 buy.

@blaznwiipspman1: Well, the gamers I talk to are all hyped for GTA6, and I am also hyped myself, so... I wouldn't mind if GTA6 is similar to GTA5 just with a new setting and characters.

Didnot remember. Rockstar games has always been sluggish. even GTA3/VC/SA trilogy was trash imo.

Yes and no. GTA V also had a single player but of course the it's the online that prints money. I have a feeling they won't be bothered to do a SP this time.

It has never been worse, though. GTA V plays like ass and RDR 2 isn't much better.
