Rumors: Prince of persia sands of time trilogy remake coming

Insider John Harker from ResetEra has apparently let it slip that a Prince of Persia Sands of Time trilogy remake is coming. While there hasn’t been any official confirmation from Ubisoft yet, he’s stated it in three different areas and also referred to For Honor’s current Prince of Persia event.

well, i would say just remake original sands of time and ignore others.

I agree, SoT was the only good one. This would be great news if true.

Warrior Within was great too.

Oh boy more remakes. Is the gaming industry turning into Hollywood? Instead of remakes can we not just get proper installments of franchises like Slinter Cell, Perfect Dark, Crysis, Castlevania etc.

Better remakes than not making franchise in these installments. rather have something than nothing.

If find the comment that the gaming industry is turning into Hollywood amusing knowing that the gaming industry makes more money per year than Hollywood. Correct me if that is not true.

Ugh, I don't mind remakes so long as they don't take the place of proper sequels.

Give me a proper Prince Of Persia (last one 2008!) before you remake these.

I feel the sands of time had an excellent story, and Warrior Within has this really ... uh, hate-it or love-it soundtrack :P

I hated sands of time so much that I couldn’t even finish the game. Warrior within was so much better. It’s actually my most played game ever.

Warrior Within. It has much better combat and Dahaka sequences were really fun. Even if it were to be remade, I'm pretty sure the game's direction will be butchered in current climate. No, I'm not talking about waifus but the brutality and tone in general.

Sands of Time was my favorite back on PS2 and follow by Warrior Within but Two thrones was disappointing. So yes to Prince of Persia Trilogy remake!

Warrior Within was dope, good on the maturity when it hit the market but I do agree Two Thrones sucks however.

Remakes always better than remastered. but in this case. its ubisoft so they will turn it into open world RPG. so bad.

Not when it's modern Ubisoft who love grind-walls, auto-gameplay and repetitive shit padded out.

I'm sure it will look gorgeous and have Ubibucks production values, but that will be where it begins and ends.

apparently there was prince of persia that was worse than any assassins creed. that was 2008 version which have no combat, and you cant die or fall down.

I don't have too much hope in it after what they did with PoP Forgotten Sands.

Warrior Within and Two Thrones need a face lift.

Sands looks better then them both, but it needs alot less combat and more platforming.

Don't mess with the audio or story.

Will be interesting if this is true... does Ubisoft even know how to make non open world games anymore.

About time Ubisoft finally revived Prince of Persia, after endlessly milking its inferior offspring Assassin's Creed for over a decade. Sands of Time is one of the greatest games of all time. Warrior Within and Two Thrones are both great as well (certainly better than modern Ubisoft games like AC), but just not GOAT level like SOT. However, not sure if we can have much faith in modern Ubisoft doing justice to POP (and not turning it into another AC).

They can forget the last one ever happened and revisit the SoT formula - not just remake it.

I wouldn't mind this, but... Warrior Within harkens back to a time in the sixth gen that DIDN'T need to happen. It was a sin Naughty Dog and SEGA did too.

Only Warrior Within took it up to eleven with a sex scene that came out of nowhere because... Monica Bellucci was in it and Ubisoft wanted to one up her character in The Matrix sequels and Enter the Matrix making out with Neo, Ghost and Niobe.

What was your experience with the PS3 collection? Most people seem to agree it was a buggy mess so I never got it.

Mehh sot was good, but not really something I am dying to play again.. why not a new pop game instead??

remaking only good pop is better than making something like pop 08. or worse, assasssins creed starting prince.

i love remakes because i just can't stomach old 3d games. 2d yes i can go back to but not 3d. remakes give it the feel you never played when hd remasters just looks better polygons.

thats why I prefer FPS games over old third person 3d games.

most of classic PC FPS still playable unlike early 3D games of that era.

Original PoP SoT was definitely the best. Wasn't a huge fan of the darker tone of the sequels.

2008 Prince of Persia was a great game and it's a crime that version of the series never continued on.

I think remakes of the sand of time series would be great, hopefully this could drum up some more interest in the franchise which I really want to see return.

the industry has room for both. Some classic games could get control/ graphics overhaul and a new iteration for these classic games. I know i would be super excited if they had a kotor 1 & 2 remake
