Meanwhile Mortal Kombat 11 was broken for almost a month after release.

SNK reduces Samurai Shodown input lag to 4.01 frames after sending representative to play test game in person with WydD

A very good look for SNK as they promptly acknowledge fans

It was just two weeks ago that SNK's Samurai Shodown demo was found to have no less than eight frames of input lag, an offense that could have easily turned many fans off to the idea of even giving the game a try. We're happy to report that the input delay has been halved according to WydD.

Loïc "WydD" Petit has become one of the fighting game community's go to sources for testing input lag, and was the one that found the Sam Sho demo to have the "worst lag I have ever measured" in the early days of June. His post about this caused SNK to jump into immediate action and actually send a representative out to both meet and examine a copy of the game with Petit.

"Samurai Spirits 1.01 version test! The team worked really fast to get this new result! Congrats!" posted Petit early on Monday. "Input lag: 4.01f (67ms, B+ tier). Stability: 92%. This will be the Day1 patch version. It's faster than most games, so have fun!

"To show you the dedication, they flew out @BudokaiMR2 with a build in Paris to test it out at my place. Thank you @snk_oda, for everything :)" he concluded.

This prompt action follows in step with SNK's promise to fix the issue that came out shortly after Petit's initial findings.

You can see both the aforementioned tweets as well as the test numbers Petit produced in the images below. For comparison's sake, the initial tests reported 8 frames of input lag and an 83% stability rating.

I have no interest in this game, but it is very satisfying (dare I say heartwarming?) to see this kind of care and attention put into a game. A personal touch.

Good Guy SNK doing how they do. I'm not even surprised by this.

They have no method of detecting input lag? That inspires confidence.

Bit late, the game is released and the netcode is great.
