So its 5 year anniversary of Doom Revival. Is this game now consider Classic?

It’s Been 5 Years Since The Brutal Revival Of The Doom Series

The original Doom games were iconic, so much so that first-person shooters were called Doom-shooters for a time. However, as games progressed, the series struggled to maintain its standing with players. Fears grew when the follow up to Doom 3 was stuck in a production mire.

While the Doom franchise wasn’t known for pumping out games annually, there were signs a new Doom game was experiencing development problems. The first insight into the new game came in 2008 under the title of Doom 4, but news about its development then stopped. The game was then wiped clean in 2011, and the creation process seemingly started again. Fortunately, blood-pumping action and a clear vision for a reboot arrived in a trailer in 2014.

WOW where time has gone fast. its been a 5 years means Doom 2016 is now in classic. This and Eternal becomes two of most important games of decade bar none.

further more this game single handedly save FPS genre when it was ruined in 2007 by COD4.

I played Doom 2016 this year and I was very impressed

Doom 2016 wasn't bad. But Doom Eternal was trash. I mean for **** sake, doom slayer doing gymnastics?

Still have a soft spot for Doom 3.

Doom Eternal is my most fav FPS currently

Never really "loved" doom. But the 2016 game changed that.

Reminds me , need to play Ancient Gods Part 1 and 2 still.

Doom 2016 is great. Really love what they did with the main characters as well.

Even Doom 3 expansion was solid cup.

Doom Eternal was fun but I was more impressed with the 2016 Doom when it released. I liked the world design more too. Doom Eternal was more fun as a challenging gameplay evolution but did little to add to world I felt Doom 2016 started, just added more challenging gameplay and some new mechanics.

I loved Doom Eternal, but thought the DLC was pretty bad.

Too early. Resident Evil 4 though, now that’s a classic.

I loved both of them and I suck at shooters nowadays. The second one felt like the first God of War in that brutality
