Uncle Phil: Xbox ecosystem now has 150m monthly active users. Microsoft PC gaming revenue to hit one billion this year

Looks like Microsoft’s decision to expand the Xbox ecosystem into cloud gaming and PC gaming has proven itself to be a great move. The Xbox ecosystem has now hit 150 million active monthly users, which is an all-time record high for Xbox. Not even the Xbox 360 era matched these numbers, so it looks like things are going smooth so far. Once the Activision deal is complete, things will only get better and better for Microsoft.

Oh, and one more thing: Microsoft is expecting their PC game revenue to hit $1 billion USD by this year. This would include PC Game Pass as well as PC game sales. Obviously very small numbers compared to Valve Steam and Epic Games Store, but it’s good to see Microsoft has improved themselves in the PC game space compared to Games for Windows era.

Microsoft needs to hurry up and address the Xbox app's longstanding issues with install folders and removing games. Otherwise, their presence and Game Pass has been appreciated.

This is the cake that Sony is also trying to get a piece of. Now if only Nintendo weren't ran by a bunch of geriatrics.

I wonder how much of Microsoft's PC Gaming revenue is attributed to Bethesda games especially since Bethesda games such as Skyrim and Fallout series continue to sell a lot on PC despite being over a decade old or nearing it at this point.

It's a gross ecosystem.

For reference, PlayStation made about $250M from PC in FY22 and, expect it to reach $450M in FY23.

Also, people laugh but, the reason why MS makes that much money on PC is because of GaaS like Forza, Minecraft etc.

@adrian1480: I remember having this issue lol. I fixed it and it was such a dumb fix. I can't even remember what I did. Oh right...I I couldn't change the install folder in the settings, but I could change it when installing the game. It was so ridiculous because I spent a good 30 minutes trying to change the folder through the settings menu.

There's another issue I experienced in gamepass for pc. If you're time isn't synced up properly, then the games won't launch. After syncing up with timezone, gamepass suddenly started working again.
