Direct quote "VRR is a step down on the PS5 down"
Some games work well but not as good as Xbox
Some games don't work well.
Minimum FPS 48 required - below that it turns off.
All that time waiting and it still can't do it as good as the rest.
I'm sure there's still room for improvement over time.
They need to divert some of the SSD GPU power to help the VRR implementation.

exactly haha. The SSD is holding them back
The weird thing to me is that many monitors have a lower limit in the 40s for adaptivesync. This means even if the console supported lower than 48 the VRR would fail to work below that anyway on many displays. I would have assumed this was true for TVs as well. Is it not? Is ANY system (Xbox or PS5) able to implement adaptivesync on more than a handful of TVs when the framerate drops below about this amount?

Compared to Xbox Series X which supports free sync premium, Sony’s solution is rubbish. (My Predator G-sync isn't supported) Sony really should work on expanding the range asap. 48fps on the low-end is garbage.
@tdkmillsy: They will make it better. Honestly, the differences in performance between the PS5 and XSX are so minor to me, they are essentially nitpick points.
The bigger differences (to me) are available games, console features (software based), and subscription services. On paper, the XSX is slightly more powerful than PS5, but the XSX doesn't have an exclusive that looks better than the best looking PS5 games; so what does that extra power really give the gamer?
Besides, if you are a graphics wh*re, you should be gaming on a PC.

This is why developers can implement LFC which doubles frames at lower frame rates, so 34Hz becomes 68Hz, 41Hz becomes 82Hz, it's effectively the same thing
It is not the same thing. I told you this in the previous thread and you wouldn't listen.
Duplicating frames is just keeping the stutter instead of the screen tearing.
48hz isn't low enough to make VRR effective.
Also, why put even more responsibility on the developers? It's Sony's console.
You're essentially just saying every game will have a different implementation and react differently in certain situations
Sony halfassing everything this gen.
Strange, isn’t it? They haven’t nailed ANY aspect of the PS5 to this point.
The PS5 is on pace to pass the PS3 as their worst console imo.

It's about the games....and Sony/PS5 has them.
I thought this was about the Virtual Reality headset for some odd reason. Probably should have watched the video. Oops!!!
it might be due to gimp hdmi port on ps5.
Ah, well that sucks.
to this day. they still wont answer why the port not full spec.

Uh huh. Like how MS didn't have any games for a year and Halo still doesn't have co-op. 🤣
Xbots: But it's okay when it's Microsoft!
Is screen tearing normal for consoles hooked to TVs these days?
Not really, games either run at a locked 30fps with 13.3 ms frametime
Or run at a framerate of 60fps
However when framerates drop, and they do drop, then you will get screentearing. And a very bad experience.

Bu bu bu bu Xbox 🤣

I see. Would be cool if developers made their games run good on the hardware they're for instead.
