Walking away from E3 disappointed in Death Stranding...

Is it possible?

On one hand you have one of the great designers in all of games with total artistic freedom in his hands....

On the other hand we haven't seen gameplay and the story already seems unable to be followed for more than 3 seconds...

Is it possible that we all wall away from E3 saying "meh" about death stranding or will Kojima deliver....?

We need to ask ourselves "Was i happy with MGS5?" before we can answer that.

I looked at the title and thought I overslept a couple of weeks.

I've seen many here who are not a fan of Kojima's stories. I am. I think I will like this if only for the story, based on what we 'know' about it.

I don't know what the people who aren't sold on Kojima stories are hoping for, though. What do you guys want this to be? If it's a 3rd person survival horror/ or a military sneaking game, within a bizarre world, would that be interesting to you?

I try to be an optimist. So I hope for the best of Kojima.

I don’t think that it’s going to be possible now for me to be disappointed with whatever they show on Death Stranding at this point. I loved previous games from Kojima, especially the Metal Gear Solid games, and a large reason for that is because of the stories he tells in them. Everything that I’ve seen so far on Death Stranding looks like it’ll be right up my alley and has me hyped for it.

Same here. I don't even know why we're discussing Pre-E3 stuff and talking about something like Death Stranding isn't on the agenda.

Kojima has talked about the game in depth, and explained what, where and why the stuff happens. I had no trouble understanding him, or the great video clips he has showed.

My guess for E3 is that he tells the game has been delayed for late 2019 launch. As is usual with his projects.

But to not understand the game at this point... have you been living in a barrel without internet connection for the last year or so?

The big question is if the rabid cows here would ever admit to being disappointed in it? Pretty sure Kojima could enter the stage at e3 with a bag of shit under his arms and there would still be created 10 threads here praising the game

I'm curious about it. The trailers are very intriguing, i like that.

If it's not a game for me, them i move to anything else. Diversity should always be praised, especially considering there are literally hundreds of other options available.

Kojima needs to show us some gameplay live on stage.

I've watched how many trailers now and still have zero idea what this game will be. So yes... it's very possible to be disappointed.

As long as i'm not playing as Raiden in a simulation of Metal Gear 5.

Hypthetically if the game turned out to be garbage I think almost everyone would love it anyways. I don't see anybody being disappointed by it.

I don't care much for Kojima so I won't be disappointed. But for the little it was shown until now I'm interested.

watch out. this year again there will be shiny trailer which show nothing happened and show absolutely nothing.

I would like to hope that Sony have at least given him some guidance and kept him somewhat in check.

As long as game delivers in the end who cares if we gonna see gameplay or not this E3? Only on PS4. Another new AAA exclusive IP. Nothing to whine about.

I fail to understand why people were even excited for it in the first place, we literally saw NOTHING that remotely represents game play in any capacity, all we saw were weird as hell cut-scenes, but I guess since its exclusive thats enough to excite the cows.

I've been largely "Eh..." from the beginning. Yeah, I loved MGS as a series, but that no way guarantees future success... Especially after MGS4.

The name doesn't even make sense which is sort of Kojima code for 'hey, look how totally weird I am' which should ring alarm bells in any normal person and MGS which is all about stealth, a genre I give zero fucks for at ALL, that gives me cause for concern that he's doing another game where you have to constantly creep about and the object of the game is to avoid actually playing the fucking game and stick to the shadows till a cut scene tells you it's okay to come out again.

It's fair to say I am not hugely excited about this game.

I certainly won't be disappointed because I have no expectations of the game. I don't even know what genre it will be let alone have the slightest clue what the story will is about.

Hideo Kojima hasn't made any really good games since the PS2 era. Not excited.

I've been meh about Death Stranding for quite a while already and I have zero expectation that it will actually turn out to be anything that I will ever want to play.

I don't think that giving Kojima a blank check and complete freedom to do whatever he wants was a good idea. Some creative people need someone or something to keep them in check and help channel their creativity into a good product. Left to their own devices, some creative people just create a mess and I think that is exactly what Kojima is creating with Death Stranding.

This game will set the bar in certain departments. Just like his last 6 games.

What is there to be worried about.

Gameplay is overrated, movie games with poorly written plot lines are where it's at. It's the only way I can feel like a grown up. Gameplay is for kids.

I'm not getting hyped until it's out.

the co-op/multiplayer whatever it is, sounds interesting. Read on twitter, some of the actors mentioning that the game will include social media and different parts of the world will be needed to complete tasks. Kinda seems like the de-nuclearization from MGS5 and how it needed everyone to disarm and Death Stranding will feature more of this....?

It's very possible. Hopefully it's not the case though :)

If you're not a fan of Kojima games, turn you're self around and go find yourself some generic rehashed shooter or low quality MP service game.

It's weird how some posters are "disappointed" with games that are objectively better than game they are a fan of.

Trust and believe no one cares about the opinion of salty users who hate every AAA exclusive under Sony's umbrella. lol if anyone is talking about being disappointed before the game is even shown, just skip Sony's even and stick to your PC multipalts and dime a dozen MP games. No one will miss you.

Walking away disappointed? I wouldn’t be surprised if we don’t see any gameplay. Kojima without the Konami leashes is a scary thing.

Forget death stranding... Detroit is incredible!! I'm so hooked right now been playing the game for 3 hours!

Lol I need to get some sleep but speaking of E3 I'm excited! Would like to see some more games and possibly a new PlayStation handheld?
