Your comfort food games. When you don't know what to play what are the games you always go back to?
For me it's GTA Online, Call of Duty Warzone and Overwatch. These games are always fun to hop on for an hour or two.

Dang Bro your comfort is all AAA Bangers!
Warframe, Unreal Tournament 2004, and any number of turn-based strategy games such as HOMM, Age of Wonders, Civilization, etc.
Right now:
Some notables from the past:
Usually some old school beat ‘em up like Final Fight or Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Sometimes some online multiplayer action like Halo or Gears of War.
for me its

ratchet and clank 4: return to bikini bottom
finalfantsy 20 remake gatorade edition
and spiderman 3 pancho hernandez.
You are mad today! Techhog89 and and you, you're both very mad😊
Lots of old fighting and racing games. Stuff I just want to play for a half hour to unwind. Bushido Blade, Power Stone, The Last Blade, Soul Calibur, King of Fighters, F-Zero, Motorstorm.
But the most surprising one is probably 1080 Avalanche. There are better snowboarding games out there (*cough* SSX3), but Avalanche is an easy game pick up again after a long break. It was criticized for it's simplicity, and that is totally fair, but it's also lacks a lot of the bullshit some games felt the need to stuff into extreme sports titles of the time. No unnecessary story mode, no over the top announcer making sure you noticed how extreme the whole thing is, no super-meter to fill so you can pull off your ultramaxradicalz moves. Just pick a character, pick a track, go. There's just enough of a trick system to keep things interesting, but it doesn't get in the way of the fact this is a racing game at heart. And if you are in the mood for something a bit more eXtreeems, the avalanche levels are there, and to this day still an impressive sight to behold. Wish Nintendo had any interest in bringing this series back.
I do not see video games in the same way as comfort food as I can go for days and weeks without playing a game. I really cannot do so for the comfort food that I enjoy.
None really anymore but it use be.
Usually some sort of city-builder or management games. Of late that'd be Cities: Skylines or Dyson Sphere Program.
I also just got back into World of Warcraft. Recent patch sort of streamlined the end-game a bit, made it less daunting.
Cities: Skylines
Damn industrial trucks would rather use the quite 2-lane residential streets rather than the nice 6-lane limited-access highway I provided. Bastards.
Conan Exiles, Starbound, Minecraft, No Man's Sky or anything else that I can build something cool in. I love building random things and collecting materials. My build it? Cause I can.
Id say Tarkov if it was fully released and optimized. But as of now, nothing.
Check out Hunt: Showdown if you haven't already. It's awesome, and Tarkov fans usually play both.
I played it. LOVE the art direction and sound, but killing a boss and extracting while having wall hacks is not what i want from mah pvp. I wish they made a singeplayer game out of this. Some kind of a rpg/fps hybrid.

Understand what you mean, but the "wall hack" you speak of isn't a wall hack. It kinda shows where people are, if they're near enough, for 5 seconds only. And the people who can see has the disadvantage that everyone else can see where they are. PvP in Hunt is soooo much more than that. But, I get why everyone doesn't like it.

I just don't like the main game mode. If they copy pasted Tarkov's game mode and Hunt had as many items to scavenge, there's a good chance i'd be playing it over Tarkov cuz it does have more style and most likely the best sound design i've heard in a game.

Agreed, it's fucking insane.
Back in the day (PS3 generation) it was Metal Gear Solid 4. the 10/10 masterpiece that I completed 50-100 times (I lost count lol, probably 1000-2000 hours). I don't really have time for multiple play throughs but The Last of Us 1-2 I completed 3 times each and DS3/DeS (Recently became a Souls fan) I finished twice and will probably always be able to play up until NG+7.
@omegamaster: FFX Blitzball holy shit those memories. Best mini-game ever. Probably 100 hours in that alone.
Not played it in 19 years or so... Desperately waiting for an FFX remake. Maybe on PS6 eh?
