I started primarily in the third generation, so I'm going rom there:
- Third Generation: Didn't do a ton of gaming back then, so I'll just stick with Super Mario Bros.
- Fourth Generation: Sonic 3
- Fifth Generation: Can list so many games here, but Metal Gear Solid is number 1.
- Sixth Generation: MGS 2 and it's prophetic message still shines with me.
- Seventh Generation: Though flawed, revisiting Shadow Moses in MGS 4 does it for me.
- Eighth Generation: Breath of the Wild. It doesn't have the best graphics, and the dungeons suck, but it has a ton of heart!
- Ninth generation (current): If Elden Ring didn't get so repetitive after 30-40 hours, it would easily be it. Going with Returnal! Love that they dared to be different and gave us an action/horror/sci fi experience that's challenging.
How about you, SW? What is your favorite game from each generation?
