What was your favorite platformer of 2020?

Super Mario 3D All-Stars for Switch gets my vote. Two amazing games in Mario 64 and Super Mario Galaxy on it for the win. The only other game on that list that interests me is Ori and the Will of the Wisps. I absolutely loved the first game so I’m sure I’ll love this one as well but the Mario games are still top choice in my book.

Will of the Wisps was very good.

Will of the Wisps looked and sounded excellent.

I also like that it felt a bit less punishing than The Blind Forest.

It's hard to go past the Mario collection... honourable mention to Ori.

I voted for 3D All Stars but giving an extra shout out to Astro's Playroom. It's only a few hours long, but it is my default "check out what the DualSense controller can do" demo whenever anybody comes to my home.

I'm not a fan of the genre often. Astro's Playroom was fantastic though.

Ah yeah. A fantastic remake of the original Rayman.

Ori

3d Allstars followed by Sackboy and Astros Playroom. Sackboy feels a lot like Super Mario 3D World and Sackboy is a blast from what I played at my buddies house. I didn't play will of the wisps yet, but I thought the original was overhyped. I'll check it out on GP for sure. Just my opinion though.

Ori. Being honest,Ori is the only one I played.

I'm interested in Sackboy. Will try to get it on sale.

Played a shit ton of platformers this year, but none of them were 2020 releases lol. Edit: Oh wait, played Mario 35!

I'll probably play Ori 2 at some point, heard that game has sick mobility options once your upgrades get going.

Mild interest in Sackboy. Looking way better than the LBP games, but still like a lesser 3D World. No rush to check it out, just next time I get the itch for another 3d platformer.

I think the only 2020 release I played was the Super Mario 64 PC port. Completely completed it for the fourth time in my life.

How could you hate Ori and the Will of the Wisps? The game is amazing. Excellent gameplay, story, presentation, etc.. There is nothing bad about the game. It is one of the best games I have played.

I fully recognize its a very good game, but it makes me rage within like 2 minutes of playing it. every time.

something to do with visuals and music setting me up to expect something relatively easy and relaxing, but the actual platforming and combat being challenging. And i'm absolutely terrible at 2D platformers.

I tried so hard to like it but I'd be raging within 5 minutes every time I tried to play it. the last Ori game had pretty much the same effect on me.
