I only dabble in racing games, but if there's one game that stuck in my mind long after I played it, it was probably Need For Speed: Underground 2.

Forza Horizon 3 and 4 are really great, but can feel a bit directionless. NFSU2 didn't have that problem.

Trackmania.

Probably NFS Underground 2 on PC with smoke update/patch/mod whatever the fk that I accidentally installed then.

Oh almost forgot about this gem, Legal Street Racing: Redline. Its a really amazing game especially if you installed the V2.3.1 mod

I'm just a huge fan of racing games that are partway simulation (in their driving mechanics and how the car handles) and partway arcade (in their difficulty and controls)

That’s a really tough call but I kind of want to say Mario Kart 8 Deluxe since it’s the one that I’ve had the most ‘pure fun’ with.

Probably the first Need For Speed Underground, or maybe Burnout Paradise.

I haven't played a ton of racing games, so I haven't played Burnout 3 which tons of people apparently love.

Soft heartspots... Rumble Racing, Super Off-road, Jet Moto, and the original Wipeout

Oh yeah, mario kart has always been a pure fun series.

Nothing better than playing mario kart with friends on the couch. But my all time favourite has to be Mario Kart: Double Dash: the tracks, the racers, the unique items. It also had a nice 'balance' in its items. Instead of causing pure frustration.

F-Zero GX. I love arcade racers and have a few more I want to list, but GX is definitely at the top.

Motorstorm: Pacific Rift, blur, Split/Second, Excite Bots, NFS: Underground and Most Wanted 2005 to name a few.

Probably have to go with Burnout 3. Takedowns felt revolutionary to me at the time and the sense of speed is still unmatched by any other series I've played.

Probably Forza Horizon 4 at the moment. Of all time... IDK, I've loved my experiences with Mario Kart, Gran Turismo, Test Drive Offroad, Stunts, hell even star wars Ep 1 Racer. But I'm a casual racing fan - fun is the goal, and I tend to play things that fall into my lap or are recommended to me, and stick with them if I like them

not huge into racing games.. but I enjoyed Project Gotham Racing series

As you can see I'm very old school. Not really into racers anymore.

Outrun 2 by a country mile. It may not be a true racing game (you are racing against the clock) but it's got maximum style, playability and replay value and is one of my top games of all time.

Honourable mentions go to The outrun series in general, Super Hang On, PGR series, Gran Turismo 3 and Micro Machines.

Gotta have to say Mario Kart: Double Dash and F-Zero GX.

TOCA: Touring Car Championship was good, you could drive a tank and blow up anyone who was better at racing games than you. That game had the best cheat codes... micro machines perspective, raining cats and dogs mode, big driver hands etc.

Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit on Xbox 360.

And there used to be a racing game on the Amiga, called Stunt Car Racer, which was amazing for its time. Somebody should make a remake of that game.
