Wow I didn't know Starfield having an 83 at MC would cause this to happen.

Well I have to say after a month of playing BG3 on PC , I am so glad that I didn't reup my sub with GP for this game.

Its an outdated design with zero world building, amateur writing, reused animations from 2006 and quest design that is so dull and simple, that it feels to me that Bethesda is taking their playerbase for a bunch of low IQ gamers. The 1000+ planets was their main selling point, but (as everyone expected) all these planets ended up extremely generic with no quests or characters on them. You're just walking around, scanning and collecting rocks. What the **** kind of gameplay is that? Were they planning to steal Ubisoft's dull as hell formula? This game is so incredibly dull, i don't know how it took them this long to release it. And imagine if they didn't have a live service game to milk their fans (ESO). What then? I think its clear to us all that they lost the talent of making good games (many would say that they never had it to begin with, and i would disagree), so would they be in the same situation Bioware is in?

Bethesda is in deep trouble, but at least i respect Todd for making a honest conference, and let us know what went wrong, and what were their real plans with the game.

Starfield. If you needed that poorly made video to tell you that Starfield is outdated or overrated, you've got way, way, way too much time on your hands. Either play the game or don't. If checking out legitimate reviews that show good gameplay footage or reading up on it helps you decide if the game is for you, then do that....but don't watch this drivel.

I thought this was going to be an informative video, but it was like trying to watch 100 tiktok videos smashed together (holy crap, is this what kids these days think is good? Damn, I'm getting old), jumping from one thought to the next with no real coherent value to it. Eh....glad I only skimmed through the video and wasted about 4 minutes of my time. I'd rather play Starforce...damn it. I'd rather play Starfield over having to waste anymore time on this video.

Starfield is a decent enough entertaining game, it is not the second coming, world building could 100% do with fleshing out and mods/community will undoubtedly help the game over time, One thing I think is clear though and that is Bethesda's strongest IP remains Elder scrolls.

So much vitriol for a game nobody wants to play.. For a game that sucks so bad, it sure does get talked about alot.

Worse, they havent really moved on from 2002-2003.

In many ways they have even regressed. Remember how in Morrowind ANYONE could die? Or how in Fallout 3, you had far more weapon variety than Pistol, Shotgun, Rifle and Assault Rifle? Not even getting into the weapon variety New Vegas had (since that was Obsidian).

@Litchie: Fallout 4 wasn't 'exclusive' to Xbox so nobody gave a **** and no one but the most hardcore Bethesda fans hyped it. Meh game with meh hype.

But Starfield had different hype, same result/quality. and obviously different reactions due to the insufferable hype we had to endure (and laugh at) for months.

I can't wait for Assassin's Creed 2024 to be the most hyped game of the year if MS buys Ubisoft.

I was under the impression that the game was hyped, liked and sold really well. I remember being one of the few here who had anything negative to say about it when it came out.

I never understood the Starfield hype. All we had to go on was really bad looking footage, and the fact that Fallout 76 was their last big game. People were treating Starfield as the next Skyrim. No idea why. Just blind wishing, I guess.
