Xbox Games Showcase Announced for June

Microsoft has announced its E3-esque Xbox Games Showcase for June 9, 2024, with announcements from Xbox Game Studios, Activision Blizzard, and Bethesda all promised.

Revealed on the Xbox Wire, the showcase will take place at 10am Pacific / 1pm Eastern / 6pm UK though Microsoft didn't say how long it would last. It did share a "Redacted" teaser image for what appears to be the next Call of Duty, however, which will have a dedicated Direct immediately after the Xbox Games Showcase.

We are entering what used to be E3 season. Glad to see Xbox keeping things interesting this time of year. Let’s hope some others have something fun as well

I had mixed feelings about Gears 4 and 5. They had their moments, but they also felt rather repetive sometimes. Ah, heck, just bring on Gears 6.

The show will be 5 hours long,to fit all the xbox studio's games trailers and announcements in.

There's even something for cows who have nothing to play with the reveal of PlayStation's most successful and biggest game franchise..Xbox Studio's call of duty.

Meanwhile the wait for a Sony first party Showcase continues as Cows are left with 3rd party average-ness confirming their dominance in last place.

I just assumed there'd be one, they have them every year.

IMHO, Gears 4 was The Coalition getting their feet wet and I guess a GS 8/10 was a fair score but Gears 5 excelled and included a few things never seen in a Gears game that I really loved. The open space freewheeling player controlled unique muti person vehicle and the upgradable AI Jack, and his unique abilities used in combat to name a couple.

Gears 5 deserved a min GS 9/10 and a 95 meta score. :P

@SecretPolice: I am definitely no slouch at Gears, but a few scenes in Gears 5 felt overly difficult, and I had to fight for 20 minutes or something before there was a checkpoint. I have completed Gears 1-3 on all difficulties, but after completing Gears 5 on hard, I had had enough. I particularly hated the ice world. I even got lost there lol.

Have you tried the New Game + mode. Really helps having Jack all leveled up almost from the get-go. ;)

Also, Hivebusters is some awesome DLC with some new abilities for your new characters as well not to mention a real visual showcase.

Yeah Hivebusters looked great and wasn't nearly as frustrating. I am not feeling like starting a New Game+ right now, even if Jack's got my back. There is too much new good stuff to play on Gamepass and too little time.

i'm hoping the rumors of a Gears 6 reveal are true.. i'm also really wanting to see more on State of Decay 3.. overall, it would be nice to see what's cooking for 2025.. 👍

i also hope PlayStation does a showcase.. i'm sure they have things releasing next year so it would be good to see what's on the way..

How can you be excited for a new title to be announced when said title will be developed at a non profit? You simply cannot develop quality when its made for a $1 subscription service.

Bitch n moan all you want, but deep down, you know i am right, and if not, how many years can we expect for Microsoft to deliver a 90+ on meta title, OR a game that scores in the 80's, but is as well received by its playerbase as Helldivers 2? How many years? Yea, good luck with that.

Definitely want to see some stuff on Fable and Perfect Dark.

Cows will be watching this show hoping some of the games will come to PS5, cos they need something to spend their $70 on.

I like that they’re always consistent with when they have these shows. Nintendo and Sony will have their own but they play the wait and see game lol.

6pm UK means 3am for us, yeah MS can piss off with that time as I won't be getting up to watch it.

They couldn't put it on 3 to 4hrs later so those in the Southern hemisphere can watch at a semi decent time? Of course not because MS are morons.

It's just really simple that Phil can't see outside of America. By simply moving it back 3hrs so its 1pm and 4pm US and 9pm UK it would give the Southern Hemisphere a chance to get up around 6am to watch it, but no 3am it is, take it or leave it.

Not only that but it's on Sunday in the US/UK but it will be 3am Monday morning, so a workday. Could have done it Saturday in the US/UK so it would be Sunday in the Southern Hemisphere, but to be honest Phil has his head up his arse.

The Latest Rumors About Xbox's June 9 Showcase

While Xbox hasn't confirmed anything specific for its upcoming June 9 showcase, there have been some major rumors circulating the internet since its announcement last week. According to Tom Warren writing for The Verge, the June 9 Xbox Showcase will apparently give fans concrete release dates for Flight Simulator 2024, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Avowed, and Starfield's Shattered Space DLC. According to Warren's inside sources, Xbox will also be revealing a new Gears of War game during the showcase.

While this is already great news for Xbox Game Pass subscribers - with all of these titles already being confirmed for the subscription service - Xbox is also teasing a follow-up direct for a specific game. Though this game hasn't been confirmed yet, Warren, as well as many other industry insiders, believe it'll be this year'sCall of Dutyentry. Being the first showcase sincethe Activision-Blizzard acquisition, it would make a lot of sense for Xbox to flaunt its newly acquired franchises, and puttingCall of Dutyin the spotlight feels like an obvious move. While it hasn't been confirmed yet, there's a real possibility that 2024'sCall of Dutycould be coming to Xbox Game Pass on launch day, and if that's true, then fans might find out on June 9.

If all the games romoured appear at the event it will be done and dusted for sony this year.

Want a new Forza horizon announcement but doubt it as they keep on releasing new content to 5. Also fable has to be there desperately want info on that.

Eventhough I'm getting a bit tired of the same formula since FH 2 (I think that one really cemented the formula and it had those showcase events) I'm also looking forward to a new one.

More excited to play Forza Horizon than Forza Motorsport, that's for sure.

Maybe Solar Crown will be good and will come close to FH?
