(There's an RGG conference tomorrow, so more platforms might get announced)

The short story is that Ishin is the best or second best Yakuza game depending on who you ask, so buy it if you remotely enjoyed any of the other ones. The combat is basically Yakuza 0's but with gun and sword styles. Also if you've seen Rurouni Kenshin, you're playing as this guy:

@SolidGame_basic: I guess I'm more excited for others since Ishin has been on a lot of Yakuza fans' wishlists for years. I already played an import copy, but Ishin is so good, that I have no issue double dipping lol.

Oh, and SEGA tweeted out all the platforms:

Nice. So is this like a Kiwami version of the original?

Sort of. They're using UE4, so it's a remake like the Kiwami games in that regard. Kiwami 1 though was built with the Yakuza 3 through 0 engine and Kiwami 2 was with the dragon engine. I think they made the right call going with UE4 this time, because I don't think you can replicate Ishin's combat if they went with the dragon engine again.

This looks like a good time. I don’t get excited for many games anymore, but I’m looking forward to this one.

Good timing from Sega, now that feudal Japan games are quite popular.

Looks like I was right...

Ghost of Tsushima Gave Sega Confidence to Release Like a Dragon: Ishin in the West

Feudal Japan is a hot setting right now, with hits like Nioh, Sekiro, and Ghost of Tsushima, and anticipated games like Assassin's Creed Red. That's why Sega finally decided to bring over Ishin after leaving it in Japan for eight years.
