I'm still surprised that Metal Gear Solid 4 remains a PS3 exclusive. Even though it was a very fan service-y type of game, it still received rave reviews. You would think Konami would've given it at last the remaster treatment. Also, the HD ports of the previous games have not made their way over to current gen, which is kind of odd to me. What do you think, SW? Should Konami do something with this franchise or just let it die? Do you care if the series continues?

MGS1 is my favorite game of all time! Played through it at least 8 times. I've been itching to replay the entire series. I also have the Gamecube version of MGS 1 that I haven't played through (ever).

Edit: Guess I should try to read the whole title.

The future of MGS should just stay shut, even though Kojima is a maniac he's still the reason why MGS is what it is, and without him, it wouldn't be the same.

1, 2 and 3 should receive remakes, but not FFVII-level remakes. Just updated graphics and mechanics. Without the voice acting, sound effects and contemporary pop culture references, they just wouldn't be the same.

No Kojima, no more MGS series. With that said, "Let it die" with honor.

Would have been better had it just ended after MGS3.

No MGS4 is what it should have ended and I really like MGS4 more so then people give credit for it. Their was no need to continue the series after MGS4. At least Metal Gear Revengeance work only because that game was a spin-off.

MGS4 would have been great had it just been Act I: The Game. II, III and IV were a pretty big meh (III especially was completely unnecessary) and V just ruined everything.

I feel bad for Konami staff.

Getting a lot of abuse online from dumbos led by fatty lucky if he makes it past 40 Jim Sterling simplifying the company to one simple entity.

Kojima is an asshole as well, at any point he could have said "he leave those guys alone", instead he reveled in his own ego while Dorito Pope gobbled up his ball-sack like it was the powder cheese of his dreams.

From Death Stranding it's pretty clear Kojima wasn't the end all people were making him out to be.

Let Platinum make another Revengeance.

It's not all black and white about MGS franchise. Can anyone continue the franchise without Kojima? Difficult to say. But there certainly are some studios out there which could take over.

Imho, Konami should sell the rights to Sony/MS or to any other company which may be capable to continue the franchise.

That, or simply kill it.

Just port the entire series to PS4/PS5, Xbox One/Series X, and PC.

Other than that, I don’t care what they do with the series. Make a new game or don’t. Whatever. It’ll probably suck anyway.

Act 2 was pretty good as well, but it definately dropped off there. The difference in quality between the first 2 acts, and the third...

Just wow, extremely offputting.

Would prefer to see MGS remade in one form or another, but otherwise I was satiated with MGSV and I don't anticipate wanting to play that series without Kojima's involvement.

@SolidGame_basic:

We can't have another Kojima so let's face it: no sequel to MGS V will ever feel like his handy work. Knowing that, I think they should reboot the entire series. Everything that Kojima made can just die as its own, separate universe. While the new one makes its mark as something new and different.

I think, first and foremost, Konami needs a re-structuring. In their current state, chances of a new and good MGS are slim. Plus their current focus is on those gambling machines.

If not, I think they can license the franchise out to a competent dev who could make a decent MGS game. And there's also the possibility of spin-off titles like MGR to consider.

Konami is definitely not going to sit on that franchise and do nothing considering it's popularity and status as an icon in the industry (the franchise, not the company).

Would like to see beefed up ports of all the current MGS games to current and/or next gen systems. I wouldn’t necessarily be opposed to seeing what kind of MGS game Konami might be able to make be that an MGSVI or a reboot but Konami currently is just straight up trash and I’m doubtful of how well an MGS game would be without Kojima.

Let the past die.

Kill it if you have to.

They shouldn't make anything new with Metal Gear.

I've never played Metal Gear 1 or 2 ... Would like to seem them remake those with MGS5 gameplay. Oh and no mother base BS please.

Also a sequel to Rising would be welcome.

A remaster would be nice. Up the res and framerate. Nothing else. These games are still a joy to play and they still look great. I wish Microsoft would've made the HD collection 4K.

Reboot. I've always wanted to see full-blown 3D remakes of the original MSX2 games, Metal Gear 1 & 2.

But you can't trust Konami anymore. Unless they outsource to Kojima Productions, there's no hope left for the Metal Gear franchise.

Konami's dead. They had the guy behind one of the best Contra games in the series to make Rogue Corps and it turned out to be total crap. I think the best thing to do is to wait for Konami to finally shut their doors and hope a better company gets the rights to Metal Gear.

I really doubt Kojima Productions will acquire Metal Gear if Konami closes their doors due to how small the company is but I can definitely see Metal Gear's future owners outsourcing development to Kojima.

Yeah, you said no Kojima no MGS, you act like he was the only person making the game, thus why I called you a fangirl.

MGS with Kojima was average at best, so I think a team that's works together can do better.

Put the legacy collection on modern consoles with visual improvements and new controls. Remake MGS1 from the ground up.

After that give up on it or try to reboot it. Though a reboot could end in disaster...

Whats the point continuing, the story already been told and the saga has come to an end with MGS IV. Zero's legacy (the patriot, sons of bigboss) all died or too old, Raiden needs a rest and reconnect with his wife and son. Meryl got married.

Even bigboss needs a rest. How many times are we going back to the past, miller ocelot diamond dogs and outer haven all ultimately will die.

Just let it die. Not so much because there's no Kojima but because Konami.
