I have this whack ass emachine that I bought about a year ago. I press and hold the power button it power on but it doesnt bootup the screen is black and the fan is blowing but it doesnt bootup. SOMEBODY HELP ME!!!!

Don't know what to tell you. Just check all your cords and stuff, make sure they're all connected properly.

the tube in the monitor might be blown or something. try hooking up another monitor and see if it works

^^yeah because you would see something if it was working. At least the blank screen would be visible--is it?

if the screen is all black and blank then it might be something with the tube inside

hmmm, maybe, but when I unplug the power cord from the computer and leave the monitor hooked up it says "no signal".

Take out both your sound card and your video card. Rub their connections (the golden parts) with a pencil eraser. Wipe off the eraser stubble and insert both cards again. Try that. The same thing happens to me when I move to new places. Some things just need to be reseated and such. Yes, the sound card can cause this, that's why I said do both. Good luck. Hope it works out for you.

Thanks ayzil but I left it alone for a few days and tried it again and it powered on fine.

btw, how did you know I moved it?
