How do you feel about the Yakuza series? Are you a fan?

Never tried a Yakuza game but I was a huge fan of Shenmue 1 and 2 back in the day. So you can imagine I was pretty excited when the Yakuza series made its way to Xbox. Yakuza 0 was recently on sale on the Xbox One store so I bought it about a week ago. What surprises me though is that I never knew these games were on Xbox until I saw it on the Xbox "free for a weekend" games. Didn't Xbox announce it?

I believe Yakuza 0 and Yakuza kiwami 1 are currently on the Xbox, with Kiwami 2 to come in the future.

Anyway, will you be picking any of the games up? how do you feel about the whole Yakuza series? Are you a fan?

@worlds_apart: I'm not really a fan. too Japanese in that it has some weird stuff going on.

I had never heard of them but Yakuza O was on Gamepass so I have it a shot and was impressed by the game. The narrative is strong enough to keep you engaged the combat once developed is pretty fun, and it's a big game, I'm at 25 hours and it feels like there is still a lot of game left.

I'm still unsure of it, I've seen bits of it and it does look alright. I should probably give it a shot especially if it's on GP.

Yes. Played all of them on PS including all the english spin off like Yakuza Dead Souls amd Judgement.

Never tried them but I am curious about the series. I have Game Pass so I have no excuse not to try it soon.

I just started my first foray into it, with Yakuza Kiwami. I really like it so far. It's not particularly reminiscent of Shenmue, so far. So I wouldn't go in expecting that. But I recommend it so far
