If you really don't want to get it fixed, use the remote opening whenever possible. Unfortunate part is if there's already a game in there, you can't do that. :(

yea like their god damn vista tactics. i have to pay an extra 15 dollars if i want a 64-bit version of vista. when i already paid 90 for the upgrade. sometimes i feel like they are trying to nickel and dime you at every turn. ever see that southwest airlines commercial where everything you do costs a quarter? that is basically what i am feeling for ms right now.

I know a guy who was killed the same way. I took the extra step and had a grounding rod put in the floor of my living room. Now any one who comes over to play just has to strap a leg to the rod b4 they can play the 360. Problem solved.

I have been shocking myself too for the past months, I have alot of static build-up, I touch my cellphone, a laptop (buttons), the metal bars of a chair, and still get shocked. And no, it won't kill you, it's not powerful enough to, but static build-up pisses me off, I have to worry about grounding myself now because I killed one of my house fans trying to turn it off and the static electricity that went through penetrated through the plastic and probably caused a short circuit when I touched the power button when I wanted to turn it off, and now it doesn't work anymore.

Yeah man, just use your controller to open the disc tray. If you set it to load to the dashboard, it will go to the dashboard even if there is a game in the disc tray. Are you using a metal tv stand or desk? Sounds crazy.

Its the time of year, very dry out with all the heat running in doors. My 360 and PS3 shock me if I don't discharge myself after walking over carpet. The reason it's worse than a doorknob is because the doorknob is not filled with electronics with electricity flowing through them.

The worst is when the controller gets me...pull the trigger and bam...bad shock....would make for some interesting force feedback in games though.
