Ok so I was playing Oblivion and my game froze so I turned off my 360 and turned it back on. Everything was ok, then my friend invited me to play a Gears of War match so I put in Gears of War and joined the game. As soon as I joined, my 360 turned it self off. I was thinking "wtf" and I turned the 360 back on and it froze on the little spinning sphere with the X when you start up the 360. I turned it off and back on then I got the 3 red lights of death. I thought "hey, no big deal, I got a Gamestop warranty that lasts till mid March".
I came back about 10 minutes later and now my 360 works fine.
Now, the question is...should I go to Gamestop and try to trade in my 360? I don't know if they'll believe me when I said I got the three red lights because now it works fine.
Usually, the three rings mean that there is an inevitable (albeit no immediate) internal system failure going to happen soon. If I were you, I'd return it for a new one.Â
(PS: If the clerk tells you (s)he doesn't believe you got the 3 lights, ask to speak to the manager, works like a charm...)

That would so suck because you know its going to die but no one believes you.

I got the 3 red lights and it never went away. But I did get a one year warrenty from EBgames and when I called them about my 360 getting the 3 red lights, they told me to bring it in and they gave me a new one without even checking to see if my bad one was really bad or not.
