commandos style rises again, this time from east

User Rating: 8 | Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun PC

as a huge fan of commandos style games (you may call it tactical action or tactical strategy, whatever) I was really disappointed that this genre was almost extincted for about 10 years because game producers just focus on online and console games to make more money. so I became so happy when Daedalic Entertainment and Mimimi Productions released this title, and after playing the game, I can say they've done it really well. however it still falls short of legendary titles in this category such as commandos and desperados but make no mistake, it is really fun and challenging and if you are a fan of the genre, it's the only title out there that worth trying.

pros:

brilliantly manage to put all of the good old things together

great graphics and sounds, astonishing art direction and level designing with Japanese theme, interesting storyline

gameplay runs smoothly and almost bug free

cons:

couldn't add anything special to genre after ten years, also ignore some novel ideas of last games

the only way to accomplish missions is sneaking, if enemies detect you, the only option is loading game from last saving point, there is no fighting option like commandos, desperados, robin hood and ...
