Good graphics don't make a great game

User Rating: 7 | Tom Clancy's The Division 2 PC

I played the 8 hour demo prior to deciding whether to purchase some 4 years after the game's release. On the face of it this initially appears to be a fantastic game but as you progress it's flaws become evident. The graphics and artsyle are superb in this FPS looter shooter but the main story mission really is designed for co-op play with friends or matchmaking in small missions to progress the story. It is brutally difficult (although not impossible) playing solo even on the easiest story mode setting.

Also the NPC'S are bullet sponges which is really annoying and the game can be quite slow requiring tactical thinking and lots of use of cover mechanics. Whilst it is essentially a war game it really feels like a cross between gears of war and Destiny 2.

I was really impressed with this at first but the main bug bear is that there is no save system. Even when you complete a mission and it says progress autosaved, it has not and I had to complete one of the early missions 3 times because of this which put me right off.

To put it simply the game is imbalanced and not worthy of my purchase as a solo player as I know I would end up giving up which is a massive shame on what could have been one of the best FPS games out there.
