William Shatner's Tekwar? More like William Shitner's Sexwhore! This is probably the worst FPS games of all time.
I tried so hard with William Shatner's Tekwar. But being a build engine game it has to be the worst one in all of existence. Tekwar is about a future where Phone is bad and all toddlers are addicted to iPads and now you must kill Steve Jobs and Wozniak using an assortment of Guns.
I want to start off with some nice things before I review Tekwar. Tekwar is very very atmospheric. The OPL techno, digitized sprites of all these blonde buisness babes in the 1990's, with these post modern environments got me goin' crazy. Very nostalgiac. I am greeted by Wiliam Shatner telling me that I am a good boy in an FMV sequence. These are VHS quality so there isn't too much color quantization. Tekwar is very impressive on a technical standpoint just like Duke Nukem, Blood and all other Duke Nukem games. Even if it is the most shitty one. Tons of exploration.
Tech War is really confusing and bad. The guns are really bad. You get a normal pistol and shoot bad guys. Bad guys are often bullet sponges. I am greeted with swats on trollies. I kill them. But then if I shoot anyone the police come to kill me and they are powerful. What the heck?! I'm on your side!
I the play decide to run into an art museum but that makes things worse. I swap weapons and i get the worst weapon possible without any explanation on what it does. It can't kill anything just jam machinery. A man runs at me but it turns out he's an android. Then a Hologram shoots at me. It just fools me. Nothing about this game makes sense.
