The fact that Square Enix only gave this game one subtitle fills me with hope that it's gonna be good.

Can't wait for the Perfect Dark remake... reboot... sequel? Do we know anything at this point :p

Lol anyway, PD and Fable are reboots of old IP's built from the ground up and will look and play like no others before them. :P

Looking great, definitely my most hyped game this year.

I can see it being very good if you're into it, and it also seems like a game made with a lot of effort, but i personally couldn't care less. The FF IP is trash.

I'm trying to avoid trailers so as to retain the "wow" factor of playing this game, but how far does this game get into the FF7 story? I'm guessing it's going to go right before Cid's introduction as I haven't seen anything on him. If this is the case, this pattern seems to suggest that there will be like 7-8 games in this remake.

I don't think that will be the case, playing the first remake I know they aren't following the story strictly. I'm guessing there will be only 4 games in this remake. Has anyone heard how many there are going to be?

Not exactly hype for it but it is a day one purchase.

Only tried one FF game,luckily it was through gamepass and at no extra cost..it was uninstalled after an hour or so.

Just not my cuppa tea.

The source states that the Final Fantasy VII Rebirth demo offered thechoice between Graphics and a Performance mode, the former of which delivered 4K resolution while targeting a frame rate of 30 fps and the latter targeting a frame rate of 60 fps while running at a lower resolution, likely 1440p if the PS5 version of Final Fantasy VII Remake is anything to go by.

Thanks. That's what I figured but couldn't be arsed farting about lol. TBH, genuinely excited. First was solid, but I felt was far too constrained. Gonna play again before this release.

I guess some of the hype is rubbing off on me. Originally I tried FF7:R and didn't like what I played, probably because of my impression of the original PS1 game. I didn't like the change in gameplay and that it would be split up.

Now that some time has passed, I've been able to absorb the opinions of people around me who have played it, and it has shown to be well accepted among critics and other gamers too and it wasn't just empty hype from bringing back a popular property. I've heard good things about it in general from people I follow that have made me want to give it another chance because I can understand what they appreciate about it, instead of coming at it with a nostalgic viewpoint and having certain expectations. Instead, I threw that away.

I've put in about 10 hours into FF7:R and I can separate it from the original and appreciate it as its own thing, and what I've played has me looking forward to continuing with this. Hopefully it will end up good, because they've said that sequels could end up having different gameplay.

Aren't you ashamed of admitting what you just did? FF7R is the extreme opposite of manly.

It is empty hype. It takes the edge off the original FFVII and makes it less impactful.

Its a corporate product, plain and simple.

Looks great, this and DD2 should eat up plenty of my time.

Why? Not only does it look good visually, you ain't suffering the 30fps like FF7R. There's zero reason to wait a year plus for a slightly shinier version of the game.

@hardwenzen: Just surprised is all. I have no problem picking up FF7 Rebirth for PS5 myself.

I really hope it's better than part 1. That was the worst FF game I went through.

Looks good! I’ll wait for PC version though obviously; same with Final Fantasy XVI that 4K 30 is 🤮

I'm waiting, I expect a PC release at some point this year.
