You just love to see failures die😊

"While we’ve enjoyed and are proud of creating these seasons of additional content for Battlefield 2042, it is now necessary for us to turn from the present to the future. What this ultimately means is that Season 7 will serve as the final season for Battlefield 2042. After Season 7 concludes, we will continue to support the game with new in-game challenges, events, modes, and of course, ongoing maintenance, but we are moving away from delivering official seasons."

Way less people are playing Halo Infinite, so don't be surprised if the game goes on life support by the end of 2024🤣

This has nothing to do with Halo but your hate boner for Halo is ever so erect. You may need to see a doctor about that as too much blood is running to the wrong head 🤣

Yea, they totally goofed on that game. Halo Infinite failure is right behind it.

Maybe this will teach EA/Dice not to rush an AAA shooter such as Battlefield because 2042 needed that extra development time. It's time for EA to do the right thing and give the fans what they really want for a long time, and that is Bad Company 3! That's the only way you'll earn the fan's trust again EA.

Buy? He probably rent the game through EA PlayPro sub.

I am not ashamed of admitting it whatsoever. Bought it new for full price, sold it a couple of months later. Then they supposedly fixed the aim assist half a year later, so i bought this shitshow used for $25cad for a second time. Played one game and uninstalled. Sold it the same week for $20 so not much lost there.

Bad move, glad I sub just to play 2042.

Why did it take so long? It's been out for 3 years and got 7 seasons. I'd say it's successful, even. Ew!

Don't expect improvement for the next BF game.

I actually just installed BF2042 after ignoring it since release and I am having a good time with it.
*shrug*

I understand it was a bit wonky at release but they appear to have fixed much of that by reverting back to the classic class structure instead of specialist (mind you, the specialist are still there, but they're less ummm "special" than they were?).

I think they tried too much, that might be my only criticism. Going with seasons was a mistake because I think initial and existing content suffers, and the whole Portal mode was just unnecessary and I don't like having half the weapon unlocks reliant on playing a game mode I have no interest in.

Next Battlefield, just give me a solid experience with traditional modes like Conquest, Rush, a "Titan"-type mode...and maybe that war mode they had in BF1 (forgot what it was called but it took place on like three versions of the same map as teams lost or won).

Less is more, AAA game makers...less is more!

2042 was terrible.. I won't be buying another Battlefield game (after I fell for the hype of 2042) until I see and PLAY something along the lines of 3, 4, BC 1or 2, or Hardline. The last few Battlefield games have been terrible and that includes 1 and 5.

The only reason I'm interested in the next CoD is because it's supposed to be a direct sequel to Cold War which is my 2nd favorite CoD game.

As far as Halo is concerned... well I've never cared enough about that franchise (outside of 2 for a bit) to worry about it.

Let's bring bring back Ghost Recon, Splinter Cell, Syphon Filter, Medal of Honor, SOCOM, Timesplitters, Red Faction, and Far Cry multiplayer instead.

I don't enjoy watching games fail, why would I want my favourite industry to do badly? Why do you keep poisoning your mind with youtube videos, hardwenzen?

Having said that, I will never give EA/DICE another of my hard earned dollars ever again, and I've been playing this franchise since august 2002.

Bf2042 was an absolute mess at launch - I mean, how nobody launched a class action is beyond me.

It’s actually a good game now. The new maps are varied, and mostly infantry based. For someone who likes their BF fun, but don’t care about my K/D ratio….I had some great sessions.

My main gripe remains it’s too fast. BF1 was perfect (again post launch), bfV was on the line….2042 just became reflex based.

Would I buy it? Not really.

Would I buy it…..twice?

Lololololol.

Allow me to give some context:

In 7 seasons BF2042 still has received less post launch content than even BF V or BF 1, though the latter is not a fair comparison as it had premium.

People had to wait 1 year on some occasions and 6 months on another for a single new map.

To give a comparison: imagine if Arrowhead games released 3 new weapons for Helldivers 2, then stopped bringing anything new for 6 months, where you're just supposed to grind... jpegs. And then comes back to give you a single new map, rinse repeat.

Don't be blindsighted by numbers, don't be blindsighted by "season 7 is PACKED full of new content"

It's all a lie. This entire live service was disappointing to die hard fans (most BF youtubers have since moved on to another game, several die hard Twitter fan accounts got closed during this disaster) as well as casual gamers alike.

Yeah, it might have got much less support than more successful BF games, but it's still successful it sounds like. Which sucks. Game should've bombed after a year, not after 3 years with 7 seasons.

The series have slowly become more CoD since BF3. It's basically full blown CoD now.

This was the only next gen battlefield to play on consoles. BF V or 1 never got a native PS5 or Xbox Series port.

With the way this engine is optimized, it wouldn't have been very hard to port, yet EA is only interested in its latest money maker (read: scam).

Finally, Battlefield V only got anti cheat around a week ago, so again there was incentive for people to stick with the latest one.

I payed 10 bucks to play the game (BF2042) for a few hours and I had to quit before my time was up, there was no way to play with friends, there was no way to have fun.

But that's the negative, and I like to focus on the positive: Thanks to the launch of Battlefield 2042 I had the opportunity to check out the revival for both previous games, their servers came back alive and the community came back together. It was so fun checking out operations again.

Lastly and I just want to make it clear that the post launch content for BF2042 was very economic, that is what allowed them to do this many seasons. Making 2 guns and 1 map in 6 months time isn't very time or resource consuming. I've seen mods bring more content in less time, and that's just people doing stuff in their free time.

BF2042 ended up being fairly good, although for the most part it felt like a followup to BF3 and BF4 instead of a true next gen Battlefield.

I hate to hear this "they fixed the game" or "BF2042 is pretty good now". Fixed and good compared to what? Comapred to the release of 2042, a game that is literally 2/10 worthy title? Sure, now its a 5/10, maybe a 6/10 on a good day. That's not BF worthy at all. Compare the "fixed" BF2042 to BF3 as an example, and the difference in quality is beyond ridiculous.

BF2042 launched as a turd. Years later, the turd got polished, and is now a Polished Turd. Nothing positive should be said about that.

Apparently on PC it has a relatively healthy 20k concurrent population. Probably 50k worldwide all platform and various launchers.

I think Xbox invested too much to let it fail. Its the face of the brand would be a bad situation if they announce end of life support without a sequel on the way.

Infinite money sinking. If it wasn't supported by a multi trillion dollars company, that shit would've been shut down within 6-8 months. And since its multiplayer is f2p, this is such an easy shut down from any other dev/publisher.

BF 2042 is a 6/10 at best after all the updates. The game has core design flaws, balance issues, low quality content and a general lack of content. It may be a decent shooter now, but it is a failure and disgrace to the Battlefield franchise.

Of course it is. I played it when they "fixed it". Game felt like shit, and the only difference is that hovercrafts weren't climbing walls. And lets not even talk about mega dogshit customization that's in the game, its beyond pathetic when compared to most of their previous titles. This game has absolutely nothing going for it. It has the battlefield name, but feels like a high budget title developed by a dev with zero experience in the large scale pvp space. Bet you they wanted to abandon it in under a year, but not only they couldn't because of the season pass, but also the fact that them abandoning ship this quickly would've destroyed all trust in their next title, so they were forced to polish this turd. Its so pathetic what Dice has become, it kinda triggers me just mentioning them. Then again, i remember the likes of Bioware, and i am being reminded that there are many other developers that have falled as hard.

It won't. Don't you remember, like 6 years ago, Dice themselves admitted that they didn't really understood what made BC2 so special? If you played the remastered maps and of BC2 in BF2042, this is the kind of experience you'll get from BC3. It was so shit i stopped playing Arica Harbor, my fav BF map within 3 games. Sooo bad.

Sad that Dice lost the plot on what made Bad Company 2 so special.

Serious EA, just make Battlefield Bad Company 3 and the franchise will rise again.

Well, at this point they're completely a lost cause because all the talent left, but this was said before most of them quit, so even back then, they were already kinda cringe.

I just wanted to point out again.

Not letting the player see their own stats in a Multi-player shooter..

Was one of the dumbest decisions I've seen a developer make..

I remember reading that the developer said the decision to eliminate stats.. was so that players with bad stats wouldn't be discouraged.. horrible decision.. especially when it's something that has been in every BF game

Bro, its legacy features that don't belong in the 21st century. Wake up.

Any studio that comes up with bullshit like that, you know they are in trouble and have shit leadership. Any respectable BF veteran would shut that down right away.

I liked BF alot up until BF1. BF1 was a weird direction for the series. BFV I skipped entirely, had too much weird drama going on around the game. I remember watching some even where the developer was saying "if you don't like the direction of the new BF don't buy it". And I didn't.

Then 2042 came out broken without stats and I knew it was officially over.

I still remince of the days of playing 1942 and BF2 at my local lan center with friends. Playing online in BF3 and 4, It used to be a great series. Always was better than COD back then. It was the good millitary shooter. Now it's a turd.

@sargentd: Yup, the series was once great and has gone to shit. BFV is actually a really good game that was ultimately ruined by cheaters. EA is finally introducing their anti cheat in BFV after all these years and I have started to play it again. You should give it a go.

I think Xbox invested too much to let it fail. Its the face of the brand would be a bad situation if they announce end of life support without a sequel on the way.

Honestly I want Microsoft to keep supporting it just to irk Hardwenzen.

The reality is, they have already completely removed seasons cuz they want to invest as little as possible in a game that makes em nothing.🤣

Honestly I just want them to bring guns -one gun in particular: the DMR- to singleplayer. There is already a system in the games singleplayer that allows you to unlock guns. Give it some extra content.

I don't give a toss about any online game with skins. Not buying the next Battlefield game if it's gonna have St Patricks day and santa skins.

Heck COD is even worse with Nicki Minaj and Snoop Dogg skins.

it was nice giving grand ops another go, it feels like a military operations. People acting like a team and playing a role.

I also checked out TDM lmao, it was nice playing that Lofoten map as it's actually a really unique and good looking map, but it doesn't appear in any other game mode.

Besides hardline, 2042 was the worst bf ever, however I found fun in it still. Even though it still had a long way to go, it sure did come a long way as well.

The best multiplayer Battlefield was Battlefield 2: Modern Combat. Nothing could touch it.
