Upcoming games and/or hardware you are excited about

One game that’s been top of mind lately for me has been Silent Hill 2 Remake. It was announced late last year, and I‘m wondering if we’ll get a release next month to coincide with Halloween lol. Regardless, Silent Hill 2 is a GOAT and I’m excited about the Remake!

The last few Super Mario Bros were so bland, they felt so low effort too. Super Mario Bros Wonder looks to change things up. This looks like a revamp of the series and I’m excited for it!

Persona 3 Reload. Never played the original game, and when I read that they might be remaking it, I was elated! It looks like Atlus put a lot of love and care into this one.

And finally, Final Fantasy 7 ReBirth… the first game was great.. does have its moments of mediocrity, but those were minimal. I feel like with this upcoming game, they’ve learned a bit and are going to deliver an even better experience.

Oh, and one last thing…

Switch 2! We’re at that time, I highly doubt we’ll go another year without a reveal. Next year will be 7 years since the Switch launched! Nintendo has to have some kind of exit plan..

I really want to see how Lords of the Fallen turns out.

Not much in terms of games at the moment, mostly because I'm busy with what I got and played my most anticipated game of the year (TotK) already. But I am looking forward to see what the Switch 2 is going to be like.

For games, I have lots of upcoming games I'm excited for but to give the short version, Black Myth: Wukong is my personal choice in the matter as the next big thing for Soul players and the first ever China developers I can get behind for making a single-player action-adventure game for next year's released. For now, MK1 is the next big game I'm really excited for only because Homelander is in it!!! Omi-Man and Peacemaker are just a bonus I can do without but I ain't complaining.

Hardware wise, not particularly excited about Nintendo's upcoming next-gen, but I am curious as to what Sony will come up with PS5 Pro & Slim. For the PC side, no new hardware is in sight and it'll be 2 years before we see Nvidia's RTX 50XX announcement..

The Switch 2, when compared to other mobile systems, will feel as underpowered as current mobile systems compared to desktops.

I haven't really looked forward in terms of game releases. I have so many games to play and so many released games that I want to get.

I'm looking forward to Phantom Liberty though. Once that's out I will finally play CP2077. Hopefully CDPR have learned and Phantom Liberty comes out in good shape. I bought it and the expansion there for 55 quid recently so it's just sitting ready to go.

On the hardware front I am certainly interested in the Switch 2. I'm expecting a portable PS4 basically in terms of horsepower. But what other tricks will it have up its sleeve? How generous are Nvidia feeling (it's really looking like it will be Nvidia based now)? Will it have DLSS? Will nintendo decide to use the tensor cores for something else entirely (assuming it even has them). What else are they going to do with it? I don't know if i will get one day one mind. Depends on the launch line up. I generally wait until it gets to a point where i will be walking out with a console and 5+ games before i consider buying. But if MP4 is a launch title...yeah that will be day one. I can't say no to Metroid Prime.

I also have an urge to get a Funkey S (a teeny Tiny GBA SP in form factor). I don't know why. But I wants one. It's so dinky!

In terms of other hardware I am interested in buying: Not much. I overhauled the ol PC there last year so it will be a while before I looks at upgrading it again. I'll be tracking developments as per the usual interests but I don't see myself looking at an upgrade for a while.

Lots of interesting stuff happening in the handheld PC space too but I already have a steam deck so I'm not really tempted to upgrade at the moment. Still cool to keep an eye on though. I wonder if Ms will port the Xbox UI over to windows so that these devices will be more user friendly. Standard windows is not great for them in terms of user experience.

FF7R 2 and, Death Stranding 2!

Seriously one of the best social experience and I think Kojima Pro can expand features like new terrain layouts, more constructions such as firefighter pole and leaving written message like Dark Souls for trolling opportunities. I loved my time with Death Stranding spent days reconstructing the highways to reconnect America!

Also reading mails sucks ass cause the mails were all long as heck. hope devs implements MGSV styled codecs for lores.

It sucks that we haven't gotten a real Monster Hunter game since 2017. I don't know what could be taking them so long to rehash 70% of content, and just release a new one.

I'm looking forward to the Dark Forces remaster.

I mean, I can play it literally right now, this second. But it will it will have a more polished up modern release, so just wait.

Ghostrunner 2. Looks super stylish and fun. Heard the gameplay loop described as being similar to Hotline Miami (lots of dying, but really quick reloads), which I loved. Everything about this game is stuff that I love 😎! Launches October 26 if anyone is interested.

Hollow Knight Silksong is the only announced game I'm really excited to play. I'll get Mario Wonder too.

Switch 2 I am keeping a casual eye on but I'm thinking Switch is my last Nintendo console

NHL 24, I am afraid it will be garbage though and they will not outdo themselves. I have not bought a NHL game in 3 years so I am looking forward to an upgrade. I am hoping for a deep franchise mode and improved gameplay and graphics.

As for games, at the moment the main ones are Super Mario Bros Wonder and Super Mario RPG. Also Forza.

Forza Motorsport always been a fan of the series. Interesting in seeing the tech in switch 2 hopefully we can get solid frame rates.

What’s your hype level for Sonic Superstars? On par with Sonic Mania??

Not even close to Mania; so probably like a 7 or 8 out of 10. Mania was the easiest slam dunk ever to predict because of what it was and who was making it. Superstars has the right physics (which is 80% of the battle), but from what I've seen, I'm not that impressed when it comes to the aesthetics, level design, power ups, and even the music (for Sonic standards anyway). I think it'll still be a good game overall, but I doubt it'll be on par with any of the best Sonic titles.

With all that said, I still want to play it, lol.

Yeah lots of reloading, but that's by design; you're basically never backtracking by more than a few seconds, but it still manages to not feel like failure, just part of the core experience.

And this is coming from someone that generally hates this kind of gameplay loop.
