But this seems more prompted by insecurities brewing out of the PS world. I'm excited as an Xbox gamer. Hellblade less than a week away. MS gaming event a couple weeks after that. New studio just announced in Poland made up of Witcher 3 veterans.

Gears 6 and State Of Decay 3, both I believe are UE5 games and Epic didn't put the final touches on the engine until last year. So, I expect a lot of that delay came from that. Only games I think I've played that used it yet were Layers of Fear and Robocop. Can't wait to see what a more seasoned developer can do with it. Hellblade 2 will be MS's first UE5 game so looking forward to that.

I think part of the issue with Sony's deal with Square Enix was the commitment length. And previous leadership at Square Enix set that course. Current leadership can't do much about it except let it run its course.

Is it even going to be any good since they no longer drag in other Ubisoft studios to do their world building and greater content creation for them?

Ubisoft's Singapore studio did most that work for years and years and years before they stopped assisting those hosers.
