Because very few were familiar with the source material. But to say the average person doesn't care is nonsense. If they didn't care " Little Mermaid " would have smashed a billion dollars at the box office. The more iconic the character is the less likely it will be successful.

People started malding. So original characters or race swap, your group hates them all! Therefore, the actual problem isn't race swapping, but it's black people "being in your shows".

When did I say that? The characters I'm talking about were not original they were race swapped. How does a random tweet prove your point? I don't care if a Japanese creator wants to create black characters.

Again you are showing a complete lack of critical thinking. Let me give you an example. If I'm watching a midevil fantasy show based off European fiction then I would expect most if not all those characters to he white. If that fictional European land looks like modern America with no explanation it comes off as cheap and lazy. Does that mean I hate non white characters? No. It means if you want to show me non white characters in that fictional setting why not put effort into it? Why don't you show me their kingdoms, culture etc instead of just merging them into a European fantasy with no explanation other then( we needed Diversity).

No it's DEI and again this isn't even debatable. We realize there are certain people who are unable to create anything original so their goal is to essentially race swap every iconic character in existence. When It fails miserably ( and we told you it would) we are called racist? Doesn't matter who the target demographic is because they have gone after stuff that is predominantly geared toward " white men" repeatedly in hopes to go after other demographics which in most cases fails miserably.
