They don't take up as much HDD space, but it is a PITA to insert the disc. You can find them cheaper on ebay sometimes than the PS Store n such.

Playstation kinda forces you to buy physical games and their disc saddled version because they don't release game keys for sale via 3rd party like Gamestop like Microsoft does. That means that even when new games get a price drop at a game store, if you have the digital version, you still have to pay full price through the PS store. The only "deals" you get are the ones Sony chooses to bless you with

I actually buy physical copies quite frequently. There are numerous used book stores in my area, and most sell games and consoles and other collectibles. I visit once every couple of weeks or so and see what is going on. Sometimes I find gold, sometimes I find coasters and shovelware. It's pretty exciting. I sometimes record what I find and research about it later. It's a nice distraction. I really miss the days of going to the store and seeing a wall of PC games.

No I go out of my way to make sure that if I want to play a game I don't have to deal with physical media. Especially optical.
