I didn't nor would i ever call for the game to be banned. I asked whether people would buy it or not because of it's political agenda. I have no problem with the protagonists being gay.

It's weird how people didn't rally against games like Bioshock, Dues Ex, Halflife 2, Fallout or a whole host of titles but now when it comes to specific subject that lesbians (bisexual? Donno how it works) might just be acknowledged as existing, it's an issue they don't want to see, keep it far, far away

Polygon, Anita Sarkeesian, Resetera and similar ilk along with a few obnoxious twittery people have done more to promote the right than the publication of Mein Kampf. Nah, I'm going to avoid the game because I'm just sick of the Naughty Dog formula.

The Last of Us clearly had a certain appeal some would see as excellent, it's a lite-Survival Horror game. My issue is it also just has bad controls, and far too focus on storytelling.

Overly scripted I think would be the best term. Bring on Resident Evil 3, now that's the game (for me) worth being excited for.

Is the issue that the game has lesbians in it? Because lesbians exist. That's not a political statement.

What political agenda? If you can't handle a lesbian character in a videogame that's your problem, sounds like you are the one with a religious agenda, not them.

Just for the record i'm an atheist and no i don't have a problem with lesbian characters. Also my wife is black so this is not the alt account you're looking for.

I won't boycott it but I am not as interested in it as I would be otherwise. I don't really get offended by developers agendas but kicking ass with a 110 pound lesbian isn't really as appealing to me.

I'm sure technically it will be a great game and I will pick it up at some point though.

When your view is essentially "gay people in my game? No way, Jose." Then yeah, you're insecure. The real question is why are you so against gay characters in media?

I'll apply charitable interpretation here and assume he's worried about some preachy "woke" social agenda in the game, which I agree would be annoying, but nothing that was shown about this game leads to think that is the case. I'm fairly confident Naughty Dog are smart enough to realize that inserting woke agendas in their games is a way to get a ton of bad press from youtubers and lose a bunch of money.

Then you obviously don't support equal rights if you want to silence people. Developers have voices and their art and product is how they voice their beliefs just like I come to these forums to state mine or how the owner of a company might build his business on certain ethics, and so on and so forth.

Taking a stance or having a belief and making it known is nothing new, it's only recently where we have either a.) over-identified things as "agendas" or b.) taking things too far to the point where they might actually be agendas, but are ultimately harmless.

Really varies from game-to-game, hackers are still a thing for many online games both competitive and cooperative. Had a horrible time with the P.C. ports of Dark Souls III and MH: World personally. I just hope it got better for those who stuck with both.

And that's not even going into viruses and very mixed optimisation from a few ports. Chrono Trigger and Makai Senki Disgaea come to mind as terrible, next to unplayable ports. And even with community patches they're by far the worst versions, alongside mobile.

Raccoon City is a really bad game overall, but does compensate by having multiplayer. Something The Last of Us: Part 2 doesn't have.

Joke aside, anyone who is looking forward TLoU2? I hope it lives to expectations. From what I've seen it looks to be what fans are craving. And less Anthems and Fall Out 76's we get, the better.

And case this whole thread really is just about an exaggerator being uncomfortable with lesbians. I'm bisexual, and don't really care honestly what anyone makes of that. My sexual preference doesn't define me, neither will it this game. Don't exactly think humanity revolves around heterosexual witch-doctors from the sixteenth century in 2020 at anyway.

So I recommend @duncancameron23 getting with the times. For some it's a scary world, sure. But it's the one we are all born in. Just like me, you can just choose not to buy the game after all.

@fedor: Well Neil Druckmann is a supporter of Anita Sarkeesian and I think she goes to far.

@RSM-HQ: CrimsonBrute was using the reference in Star Wars and I was playing it from Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic reference myself.

@duncancameron23: Anita is largely irrelevant today. If people simply ignored her she would pretty much dissapear. You also must boycott a lot of games since a litany of pubs/devs have shown support to Anita over the years.

Past support for Anita also isn't an ideology. So are you upset Druckmann is a Feminist? Is that the ideology that has you boycotting?

I know next to nothing about Star War outside a few games I've dabbled-in. Very alien to Knight of the Old Republic. Looks like a story heavy MMO, so naturally not my genre of preference.

I don't know about Last of Us 2 but I'm currently boycotting any shits from Destructive Creations for their bigotry.

@RSM-HQ: Give Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order at least a try at some point and don't worry about learning the lore of the Star Wars itself. The game pretty much does it's own thing.

As mentioned it was a hunch. Though really it still leave to the question why you think a game having its own ideals is an issue. Plenty of games have various, D00M for example is satanic-heavy, many who worked on them are also. So it's hardily new in the gaming industry.
