Its been a while since I've created an indiegame review here on Gamespot to practice my writing skills so here I am again doing a review for a random indiegame.
Note: That I review Mobile Games a lot since they are more accessible and much easy to learn.
So this week I've played this random game called Mystic Marble from Zoniworks.
Gameplay:
The game is played via Portrait setting that is being cut in half (Upper part and the lower half). The Upper part of it is composed of your characters or adventurers that you can control by solving the puzzle in the lower half of the screen. The mechanics of the game is simple, just like in other mom games (e.g. Candy Crush), the lower part of the game is composed of different colored marbles and the goal is to just line up 3 or more marbles with the same color or shape and get your score. But instead of scores, every line you solve will end up as an attack or action to your characters in the upper half.
While for the character department, there are a lot of unique heroes to collect from, standard gacha things, which has its own elements just like in Pokemon which are Light, Dark, Wind, Water, and Fire.
Visual:
The game has a very colorful and cartoony visuals that is perfect for its target audience, which are kids and kids at heart. Well I'll agree that the characters are unique from other gacha games but the design isn't. I'm pretty sure this art style of creating characters have already been used in other mobile games like in 7Knights.
Pros:
This is unique and original(for me I guess) because unlike other puzzle games with the same format (Match-3 genre) the goal of the game is to finish dungeon and finish mission just like in other normal RPG. Also it's free on so nothing to loose but to try.
Cons:
The game is good but not good enough to be phenomenal. It gets boring after a week because of it repetitiveness. Some people find grinding as a con in a game so I'll put that the game is grindy.
