I'm impressed Jared Leto isn't the leading cast this time around as this is right up his ally to say the least. But anyway, I'm a little upset they're not gonna touch the other Crow comic materials to adept that has yet to be seen on TV or Movie but wanna go with the Remake over the original. And just like that, a new generation of Gothic girls has awakened!

For those who ever played DmC game, the comparison is spot on if you know what I mean. Err I don't know, I might wait for it to come on VOD but we'll see.

I wouldn't have high hopes

My guess is it will be way worse than the Original

But here's to hoping 🍺

Didn't even finish the trailer. Not going to beat the original and the music sucked.

Wtf. I didn't know about this. Now I'm a bit upset, why would you remake that? Just watch the one that is good already. Don't support companies devoid of ideas.

I'd watch it if I already had it on subscription. Otherwise, not.

Wasn’t that Ozzy’s songs? Plus wasn’t there a hip hop artist singing it with him? Not sure? Trailer was ok by the way.😐

Looks shit to me.

Not very stylized, lot's of bright orange lighting.

Seems to be tamed down as well from the looks of it.

I'll watch it when it comes to home video. It's pointless to assume any attempt to make a new The Crow movie will ever live up to the original, so I'm not even going to bother with that line of thinking. Looks violent, so it has that going for it.

Not to fond of the character design but the fight scenes look like they might be entertaining.

I agree. I'm not feeling it, and it’s too slick and clean.

Jason Mamoa dodged a bullet by not being cast in this. Feels more like a lower rent supernatural version of John Wick than anything remotely close to the original source material--either the comic or the original film.

Not an unholy abomination some people are making it out to be, just something that looks to be forgettable when it comes out.

Michael Wincott was a big part of what made The Crow good as well.

Looks...OK.

I never understood the hype around the original but a lot of people enjoy it, so...there you go.

I think I'm not a big fan of the whole "goth aesthetic" I guess?

@mrbojangles25: Rewatching it again as a refresher to thing I can clearly say I like is that the story is small scale. Even though this was made in 1994 it reminds me alot of Dredd in the sense that it feels like a slither of a small story in the larger world than earth shattering "the world is going to change" with elaborate CGI fights and action sequences and all that stuff. It has supernatural elements to it and is highly stylized, gothic like but still feels grounded enough with grit that take it seriously that care what is going on.

Granted, the story is very basic "must revenge", but it's well told. A lot of if is the style Brandon Lees performance, not just saying that cause he died.

I get that. One of my favorite movies is Dark City for that very reason. Of course, the story does get into "world is going to change" territory (very literally), but for a lot of the film it was this small murder mystery in this dark, gothic setting.

I don't get why certain franchises get so many chances to fail. The first movie was the only one that was good and made any money, and even that wasn't a huge hit. There have been three sequels and a TV show, all bombs. I'd bet most people don't remember that three of those things even exist.

Who keeps greenlighting this shit? Does Hollywood keep it in their pocket for when they need a quick tax write-off?

@PSP107: I had no idea the new Beetlejuice trailer is out already. Totally missed that one. Feel free to make a thread on it if you like to.

I guess I'm in the minority here, but I think it looks pretty bad ass.

This won't come within proximity of touching the original. Looks pretty meh from the trailers.

Looks like they're delaying it's release. It's being pushed out from It's prime summer release date to the August dumping ground.

It's original opening weekend had it going up against Bad Boys: Ride or Die. No way it would've survived its opening against that.
