As for unusual ones, I'm partial to Master Debaters which asks participants to convince the judges of their assigned position on topics ranging from whether God exists to whether breakfast cereal is soup.
Talisman: The Magical Quest Game is fun. Some kid from England brought it to play at lunch as a kid and I never heard of it before and never saw it in any stores.
@girlusocrazy: I believe that game has been digitized, if you would still interested. Can't figure how to link it on my phone. Might actually be free, outside of Steam.
@DEVILinIRON: I found the digital version on Steam, but I kind of wish I could get the actual tabletop version. It seems like it would be the better way to play with the family instead of staring at a screen.
I'm also not sure about all the DLC options there are. I wonder if the base game comes with all the characters and cards that came with the base version of the physical game?
Oh well, it's not very expensive for the digital one. Maybe I'll just get it. It seems difficult to find the physical one, and doing the PDF thing seems ridiculous.
@DEVILinIRON:Hell yeah! Used to play Dungeon back in the 80's. Picked up a copy a couple years ago when I saw it on sale for $20 at Hot topic. Only played it a couple times though.
Been playing Blood Bowl for years. Football with Orcs, Elves, Dwarves and all the other fantasy races. Players earn experience to be used for new skills and stat increases. They can also be injured or killed. Games run about 3 hours, so bring some beer, pizza and smoke.
Got into X-Wing when the lockdown started. Has a pretty basic beginners rule set that you can use to get acclimated to the combat before stepping up to the advanced rules and start using force powers and such. Games run about 30 minutes and there are plenty of affordable expansion packs with new ships and pilots to keep it fresh.
Next on my list to check out are Hero Quest and Deadlands.
