Go ahead and mention snacks too.
I had grilled cheese sandwiches and tomato soup.
You?
I had Brunost for a snack. It was...interesting.
It's like a Norwegian cheese but it's actually reduced, caramelized whey (byproduct of cheese making) from cow and goat milk.
It's interesting. It looks like a giant brick of caramel and taste kind of nutty, salty, and just a tiny bit bitter and tangy like goat cheese. Has a waxy texture.
It wasn't bad but I don't think I'd ever get it again. Doesn't really seem like a snacking cheese (I had it on some wheat crackers), I guess you're supposed to cook with it or put it on sandwiches.

Ooooh, classic combo from childhood.
I too went down nostalgia lane and made chicken pot pie. Should be ready in about 30.
Lamb vindaloo and roasted vegetables. I didn't have any snack but we got a Entenmann's cheese danish twist and I might have some of that later.
Been chippin' away at this:
Oooooooh that looks good. Christmas gift/leftover?
You do anything with it like toast it and butter? Or just kind of pull pieces off and munch?
Don't eat much bread these days, which of course makes me want it more.
I made homemade tacos for my sons birthday tonight for the entire family because that's what he said he wanted. We also had some snacks and watched the ball drop.

The name means brown cheese.
I did not expect anyone here from US to try it.
Some use it on bread/sandwiches. Some use it as a topping on waffles.
Space cake to get the munchies going.
Giant tiger prawns with cachaça, butter and garlic sauce. Banana chips and grilled Halloumi cheese. Some caipirinhas to wash it all down.
A selection of great cheeses.
And a few traditional Portuguese sweets.
Mine was nachos and chilli. I’m kind of looking forward to the end of the holidays to get back to my normal healthy diet and working out. Haven’t had any alcohol in 2 weeks though so I’m happy about that, I find I usually end up drinking more over the holidays during all the parties and get togethers but I largely avoided that this year by working so much.

Yeah, it led me down a nice rabbithole of Norwegian food.
I guess open-faced sandwiches are a big thing there?
I'm still not touching lutfisk though.

That sounds amazing!
Was there a nice burnt cheese tart in there somewhere I hope!?
Had the chicken fries w/BBQ sauce and have-sies w/ketchup & zesty sauce from Burger King after church last night. It was awesome!

No, but there was a delicious creamy sponge cake which was fucking glorious.
(not the actual cake)
Last evening a bowl of instant oatmeal. Dinner was much much earlier to accommodate family obligations.

Nice! Looks good, like molten lava cake sort of. I love caipirnhas, too, like a Brazilian margarita (but better because I like rum better than tequila).
I love to cook, and Portuguese and Brazilian food (there's some overlap there from what I've read) might be the next cuisine I try out.
Been doing a lot of Thai and south pacific food of late, need to branch out of that.
