It's seems both sides of the coin are trying woo The Rock for leadership. Please posit why he should or shouldn't be your leader, jabroni.

Be the leader of what exactly? The President? The Governor? Probably a Businessman for sure but yeah, he's not good to lead anything.

I don't think MAGA will like him, for obvious reasons.

@uninspiredcup: I would definitely recommend it. He’s really hitting it out of the park right now with this heel persona.

Reminds of me "Idiocracy" where there was a wrestler as the president. Trump was a low point, but can it not become lower ?

Most certainly higher. Besides now he could truly do the People's Elbow on the likes of a despotic orangina named Trump.

Wasn't this the same guy who was also going to change the hierarchy of the DC Cinematic Universe?

@hallenbeck77: He failed there. Not so much him, the DC universe was floundering regardless. But he has generally been a resounding success.

WWE wise, he is arguably it biggest star now. I think they done a survey and almost everyone on the planet knows who he is barring tribes who don't have tv's lol

-

In regards to his return, it was successful. Not just in grabbing attention but elevating the other stars around him. He has always been best as a heel, not a baby face and they used him correctly. He does literally look like the end boss.

Shouldn't outstay his welcome though. Turn into Rick Flare where he's a legend who's just oversaturated and dare I say it, annoying.

@uninspiredcup: I can't comment on his return to wrestling, as I haven't watched since the late '90s, but it seems a better fit for him. He feeds off that live energy from the fans, and he can't get that in film performances.

Probably just as well--he's been acting for over 20 years, made mad money and all that, but honestly, I can't remember a single role from him. I know the film titles, but can't recall his performances.

@madrocketeer:

Humanity is great. The sheer ingenuity and cognition of our species is unrivaled on Earth at least .

Libertarianism is heavily flawed in its purest form. One needs to only open a history book to see how brutal unregulated capitalism can be. From kids cleaning chimneys to monopolies to starvation and everything in between.

It’s utopian and idealistic like communism. Neither works in practice.

@hallenbeck77:

Yea not going to win awards. But generally brings in the bread.

Much like Steve Austin with The Ringmaster his introduction to the wrestling was muted with a lame gimmick. It wasn't until they both adopted a heel persona that morphed into an anti-hero baby face flip flopping between became big.

Can even see now from the pop of the crowd the massive difference. And side from that how much better as well the production value is now.

You shouldn't follow rich people that have exploited a population of gullible fools. I wouldn't say you need to take it to misanthropic levels, nor should you be a libertarian these days...but I get it. I really do.

To wrestling fans: not saying all wrestling fans are gullible fools, but many are...probably a higher percentage than other forms of entertainment. I imagine you'd probably see higher lead levels (and also Qanon believers, alt-right followers, etc) in wrestling fans than most other entertainment.

Wrestlers basically come from carnie roots, after all.

Because he's just a shallow narcissistic actor and not a political leader. He lacks education and experience to be a president.

@uninspiredcup: Pretty much yes. Trump sucked and Rock will suck too. Almost all actors are shallow narcissistic dicks in real life. The less we have them in politics the better.

When did he return to WWE?

A lot of the older roster basically make guest appearances now to help inject interest and lift up the new talent, so I don't think he's proper "back", more a part time return for Cody Rhodes. Originally as well Stone Cold was suppost to return for a run in and out ring appearance but it ended up being Undertaker. John Cena also showed up. Shit was like Avengers or something.

Think that's a problem modern wrestling does have imo, aside from waifu shit like Asuka, the actual male wrestlers are kinda fucking boring compared to the 90's ones I watched.

I stopped watching WWE ever since they stopped calling it WWF... But it's a sad state of affairs if they have to keep bringing back older stars because the younger stars don't have much pulling power.

What about AEW, how does that compare to WWE?

@Jag85: AEW has some great matches but the storytelling can be very poor and/or all over the place. Production quality can also be kind of bad. They usually have some kind of audio issues most of the time and it just doesn’t have the same amount of polish. Still though it’s definitely the best competition that WWE has had in quite some time.

@Archangel3371: So AEW is basically like the new WCW? That was when WWF peaked. Having competition would only push them to do better.

@Jag85: Perhaps in the most basic sense that they are competitive competition but they are also a different product then what WCW was.
