Hi pc:

12900K with NZXT KRAKEN X73

2x16GB DDR4 KINGSTON DDR4 3600MHZ in GEAR 1

RTX 3090 Ti Gigabyte Gaming

Aorus Z690 Elite DDR4 bios F5

SSD 1 TB NVM PCIE

Seasonic 1300W PX Prime Platinium

Control crashing randomly to desktop. App error in event logs:rlmdwin10 dll. No driver crash.

rl_rmdwin10_f.dll as fault in event viewer

Cpu and gpu is on stock. Only XMP on 3600 in gear 1.

No errors in Karhu Ram test. No errors in HCI MEMTEST. Other games no crashing. Only Control. I tried to windows 11 but still crashing. Even no raytracing, low details, the same crashing.

I read somewhere to disable e-cores maybe? But i dont know how to do that.

On my previous platform with 10850K Control was not crashing. Now on 12900K crashing. Thx

IMO going from a 10850K to a 12900 was a waste of money(if you didn't sell to offset the total cost).

Have you used a fresh install of windows and fresh install of the game? If you have, its most likely the dreaded DRM bug with 12th gen. You can set cpu affinity to use only use the P Cores in the task manager, while game is running find control.exe right clicking go to details right click again and click cpu affinity then only select first 16 cpu cores 0-15 (16 onward is E cores). You can also try Gigabyte's DRM removal tool (does require latest bios) it turns off E cores in windows. https://www.gigabyte.com/Press/News/1952

Its only DRM free through GOG, as far as I remember. ESG and Steam had DRM added because of the "then" upcoming DLC's. Not sure if the ultimate version has DRM or not. But what do you have to lose by forcing the game to only use the P cores.

Is this game issue? It can happen after 5 minutes or after 1 hour random.

The game does not lilke intel's big core little core design you need to disable the e-cores when you want to play this game to maximize stability.
