watchdogs also confirmed to not look that much better on PC compared to consoles... better draw distances, better AA, better waves apparently... nothing else. there are already tons of comparisons on the net due to people getting the game early tonight.

so much for all that PC master race talk regarding this game. ubisoft makes good games, but i dont really know what people expected...

Report: Just played the entry mission, indoors: 45-60fps, outdoors: 25-60fps

Graphics: everything is maxed except for AA is turned off (ultra textures requires 3Gb VRAM, lucky me)

Graphics Impression: indoor graphics look good, outdoor graphics such light effects look better than GTA5 while others such textures look completely horrible and can't even match GTA5.

Because people do get games before release dates?

I can deal with the graphics, just having a better draw distance and AA is a huge improvement to me.

While I imagine there are people who pirated Watch Dogs, there are a few who got it legitly from Uplay which apparently they allowed some people to play it early.

Mine was shipped early and should be at my home before release date. If I had lived in Germany I would have had it by now. Whoever shipped it, shipped it early.

@cyloninside: 900p 30fps compared to 4k 120 FPS. I am sure there is no difference between a PC and a "nex-gen" console.

I'm currently getting about 45-50fps at 1080p max settings, and I'm still choosing to wait for patches/driver updates. The game doesn't seem to be scaling very well, even low-end PC's are getting nearly the same performance as higher-end rigs.

If the PS4 runs at 900p30 and lower settings, what makes you think I'd want to play that instead?! Keep consoles out of this.

I am running a i5 4670K along with a GTX 780 Ti at 2560x1080 on the highest settings with 2x MSAA and I am getting a solid 50-60FPS... No dips at all.

Waiting for some Nvidia drivers the game runs like crap.

Most likely driver and optimization issues. I have trouble believing a game that is being ported to 8-year-old consoles is going to stress high-end PC hardware.

This is why I wait for Steam sales to buy AAA games on PC.

That moment when all of the i7 owners still got their face down because there's still no use for their 100$ wasted precious money :P

I am afraid that gaming will not stop at 6core cpus. And we will not see intel six core cpus recommended.

When Haswell-E are going to be released we will have 8-core X99 chipset based CPU and since consoles also have 8 cores, the next optimisation will be at 8cores.

2500k GTX 670 8gig ram this game on ultra runs like crape. but runs great at normal looks good to. I could care less if i can max games out they look fine on normal settings.

again consoles dont use all eight cores they have only 6 of them for games. and those six cores total processing power is less then a 2.6 ghz Athlon X4.

again neither PC uses all cores for gaming. DX and Mantle see each CPU differently and uses different threads with each CPU.

But I agree about the power of those 8cores of jaguar architecture from AMD. They cannot beat even a 750K athlon...

Exactly, well i may not be getting 120 fps but im on a solid 60 fps on ultra, and that is a huge difference from a consoles 30 fps cap :), yes there are some people who say they dont see a difference between 60 & 30 fps lol, not sure if they are serious

A. you arent getting 120fps... not even at 1080p.

B. for a game like this, 30fps doesnt make a huge difference.

My i5 is clocked at 4.3 Ghz. If anything, it's just my GPU that is going to hold me back. CPUs can take more than many people believe they can.

There's still no CPU in existance that can run GTA 4 @ max settings over 60fps. It's just not possible. If a port is bad enough then nothing will max it out.

If you think there's no potential for i5's to struggle in Watch Dogs, you're in for a rude awakening.

GTA4 is the perfect example of bad optimization, not weak CPUs. Watchdogs could easily follow in those footsteps, but it won't be because of a few less cores or threads.

Pirated Copies of Watch_Dogs Pack Bitcoin Mining Malware

In what could explain how some "early adopters" (read: people who likely downloaded pirated copies) of Watch_Dogs noticed performance issues on the PC platform, it emerged that Bitcoin mining malware is being distributed with it, that hogs GPU time.

Pirated copies of Watch_Dogs surfaced on several bit-torrent tracker sites, ahead of even the game's official launch on the 27th of May. When installed, the software injects malware into your system, and taps 25 percent of your CPU time, and much more GPU time. The miner masquerates as "winlogin.exe," which in a cluttered list of running processes in your Task Manager, could be mistaken for "winlogon.exe," an important Windows process.

Bitcoin mining on CPU and GPU may have outgrown its viability with ASICs having taken over; but for whoever designed the malware, thousands upon thousands of GPUs mining away Bitcoins, could be more than profitable.

Until popular antivirus providers come up with fixes, it's recommended that you uninstall the game, and disable "winlogin.exe" from your system's startup entries. Just don't remove "winlogon.exe" in the process, or it's system-recovery time for you. A great way to wreck your Monday.

i dont think anyone is particularly arguing that the game looks bad.... it just doesnt look that much better on PC than the gameplay we have seen of the console versions. infact aside from the waves and the -slightly- increased view distance, they look about on par. i think that is why people are pissy.

This is a great example of why it makes sense to just pony up the extra $100 for an i7 over an i5. When someone like Ubisoft craps out a horribly unoptimized dump of a console port like this, you're going to want the extra threads and extra CPU power.

yeah..... i dont think that is a good reason at all.

i think a better reason would be for PC gamers to not buy the offending games on PC..... because voting with your wallet does a hell of a lot more good than just bending over and taking whatever you get.

What's with the 3G graphics card for playing on Ultra? ! even if u have a powerful graphics card u can't play it on Ultra textures unless it's 3G!
