I guess it would be tiresome to watch Nintendo dominate week in and week out, but this does give us some insight into the fact that there are no shortages for the other platforms in Japan with pitiful numbers like this, just lack of demand.

True, other companies have given up on handheld gaming and would rather chase that horrible, awful mobile gaming.

There is significantly more money in mobile gaming than Switch games by margin that dwarfs consoles combined.

It's not that they can't, it's just that they don't want to, don't care, and this data is why.

From people who suffer from severe addicitions and spending issues, yes.

If you want actual good games though (instead of bank account drains) you'd best stay clear of mobile gaming.

Good games can be found on mobile, just like they can be found on consoles, PCs or VR.

Searching for good games on PC and consoles is like looking for hay in a haystack

Finding games on the App store or Google play store is like... Well, you know where this goes.

you know its so true. Back in the n64/gamecube days, heck even the wii u days, they pumped out some pretty good titles. For gamecube they put out metroid prime, 1 and 2, re4, zelda wind waker AND twilight pricess, smash bros melee, rogue squadron and a bunch of other big hits. When nintendo does poorly in sales, they pump out amazing titles.

Its hard to root for them, when their best years are when they do shit in sales.

This week in Japan. It was at almost 100k last year. Pandemic's over, so Switch is falling. It won't pass PS4 worldwide now. 15 million this FY, 5 million next FY, 2 million after that when Switch U releases and flops due to Steam Deck 2 being 5x more powerful for the same price.

I was talking about worldwide sales where Switch is actually ahead of the record breaking 28.8 million they did last year.

I'm sure we'll be seeing the "Steam Deck" at the top of the Japanese, American, Euro and WW charts in no time flat!

Switch is last place in UK. Seems it actually do go down in some place in the world.

That's as irrelevant as the UK market in general. Two new consoles just launched there in its weakest region. Them being up is not Nintendo being down.

Really the only thing of any significance is Nintendo's quarterly earnings reports that account for the worldwide market share, where it's actually 12% ahead of last years record smashing year (28.8 million) at last count, even if it were fall behind that mark by years end, and go on to sell... say... 22 million Switch's, that would still be 2 million better than PS4's best year ever, and it would still be on pace to be the best selling platform of all time without so much as a single price cut.

Ampere is tracking worldwide data that has already been released. The numbers they have will be a near exact match to what Nintendo will release, minus the months that have not been accounted for in the time period that has elapsed.

"Wool for brains" is somebody who is predicting the Switch will have a Wii like drop in sales when Wii was already in decline in it's 4th year and Switch's 4th year was it's strongest year on the market the best single year of all time... or somebody who thinks the Steam "hobbyist" handheld has any chance whatsoever to penetrate the mass market.
